Fair enough to you, but I wouldn't have as big a problem with strongbow (and other cheap, mass produced ciders) if it wasn't essentially chav elixir.
I find that odd, personally. It's very rare to see a chav drinking cider where I come from (Southern England) because the chav culture has such a lager-lout feel to it. They're much more likely to be on the Fosters or some other tasteless lagery piss because it's what they "should" drink. I've had chavs have a go at me before for drinking cider, because it's fruit-flavoured and therefore a girl's drink.

I'm also partial to cocktails. Particularly a strawberry caipiroska. Drink it and thank me later.
Mojitos, mo'fucker. Like a boss.

Then I'm also a fan of Jaigerbombs. And I like doing shots.
I don't really get Jaegerbombs. I mean, I drink them because everyone else does, but it's mixing two foul-tasting liquids together for very little buzz. Why not just drink Tequila? Gold, obviously. Roughly the same price, no worse a taste, and has a much greater effect.
As I said, I don't mind all lagers. Even Foster's and Carlsberg etc. Apple cider doesn't taste all that great to me. Raspberry, though. Yummo!

Strongbow is the chav drink because it's one of the few alcoholic bevvies one would find in a big plastic 2 litre bottle, cheap as chips. Basically, it's very efficient piss water for the local scumbags.
Not being a drinker of it, you've probably not noticed, but Strongbow is no cheaper than (or often a tiny bit more expensive than) the average lager. In a pub, it's roughly the same for a pint, the same as in cans. The 2-litre thing is only different because you don't tend to get lager that way, but the price is still equivalent for the amount.

The cheap stuff, White Lightning and Frosty Jack and so on, the really nasty 7.5% stuff does come in at much lower prices than your average lager/Strongbow, and I've seen some chavs drinking that, but it seems to be much more of a tipple for the serious alcoholic or tramps.
Well, round here at least, the two liter bottles go for about three quid.

Depends. Just for a small drink a good pure whiskey is really nice but if it's for drinking in large quantities some coke in it helps a lot.

I do also like the West Fleteren beer, very rare and expensive but damn awesome.

Gin tonic is also nice for drinking in large quantities.

Uggh, never been a tramp or a chav. What I have been though is young, stupid and a broke student, drinking that stuff has never gone well for me and these day I can't touch the stuff thank God. I'm sure that that "cider" has never even seen an apple, I'm sure its basically a bunch of chemicals thrown together to sterilise the undesirables that drink it.

My favourite drink is beer, or rather real ales. My favourites being Hobgoblin, Marstons Old Empire and Holts Maplemoon.

I'm quite partial to gin. Either on it's own or mixed with coke. Dark rum and coke is damn good too. Bushmills and 7UP/sprite is good too. Gin is still the best though.

I'm a simple man

or just too broke to really have anything too fancy. Plus, I don't drink nearly as much as I used to since the last two major parties I ended up blacking out... I don't like blacking out, but somehow my unconscious self is still wandering around making a fool of ourselves. Its scary as hell.

Actually I'm holding a Carlsberg right now.

Never really cared for mixed drinks / cocktails.

Some of you guys have expensive tastes!

As a student, I take this:

Mix it with 1/3 bottle of this:

And let the night unfold!
Tesco vodka, the drink of students everywhere. As for me I pretty much drink anything, though whisky and coke are my favourite, followed by a Leg Wobbler which is fucking tasty but lethal.

There are quite a few that I like, but if I were forced to pick just one, it would be a Guinness that's been PROPERLY POURED from the tap. Seriously, if you drink Guinness often enough there is actually a noticeable difference between one that has been poured properly and one that has not. In fact, if you go to the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin there is a point in the tour where they will teach you to pour one properly, and give you a certificate.

To the people asking about mead, as with a lot of beverages it will depend on the brand. The one I tried was fairly decent.

I enjoy gin and tonic the most. Usually with Hendricks or New Amsterdam. Wine, mead, and cider come a close second, however they tend to make me feel more drowsy and are often a little too sweet. Beer is good, but only at bars. I can't justify the cost otherwise.

I have 3 depending on what I fancy at the time

Havana club 7 year with ice

Makers Mark bourbon with ice

Doombar bitter (in a handled glass preferably).

I can't find Doombar very much up north soi I usually stick to shitty lager for the cheapness and have the rum or bourbon when I want to splash out a little.

I've always had a hankering for mead. Is it as good as viking/norse/etc mythology and all that makes it out to be? I mean, it's honey and beer. That sounds awesome. Usually when I bring up the idea though, friends don't seem all that convinced, or say it's probably not as good as I'm hoping.

Thoughts? First hand experience? I may not be a drinker, but I do love me some booze.
If you find the right mead, it is awesome. If you don't... It might scar you for the rest of your life :p
As it seems that none of your friends are into mead, I suggest you look on the internet for some info on which mead you should get (or avoid).
I had the luck of getting my first bottle of mead as a birthday present from my then girlfriend, who knew that it was some of the good stuff ;-)
