Well, first I'm gonna jump on the Auron train.

But to add a couple new entries, first there's Kup:

He'll straighten you out yet.

But then again, there's also my favorite geriatric superhero, Wildcat:

He doesn't need millions of dollars, years of kung-fu training, or a belt full of gadgets. He's gonna punch you, and you're gonna drop. End of story.

First one I thought of was Captain Price... man that guy needs a game to himself... which'll probably be better than all the others at that... -_-
Yeah, Call of Duty Pre-Modern Warfare.... Find out what his life was like back when he was just a lieutenant.....

how did no one mention Mike Ehrmantraut from breaking bad. He's the only oldman bad ass enough to stare down Ron Swanson.

This man takes on armies, gives the most useful advice on the show, is loyal as all hell and makes the best tea in Ba Sing Se. He was voiced by Mako in the first season which only adds to his badassery.

Next to him you are nothing.

Uh... have we already forgotten who Sean Connery is?

I'm not amused, Miss Moneypenny.

Badass old dudes, huh?...

Well, I dunno if dead actually counts as old...

From the gaming perspective, I'd have to go with ol' T.G. Cid from Final Fantasy Tactics.

And anyone played by Sean Connery, of course, as was pointed out.

Iroh from Avatar, as some people have mentioned, is pretty damn badass, however the absolute winner has to, of course, be this badass muthafucka:
Captain-Commander Genryusai Yamamoto from Bleach. Why? because this:
He's over a thousand years old and still kicks all kinds of ass.

I'm going with Kal Skirata and Walon Vau from the Republic Commando books. I mean, they manage to hold their own fighting with genetically enhanced clones who are in their prime.

Ra's al Ghul in all his incarnations but especially the Liam Neeson version. It's pretty much the pinnacle of the recent Liam-Neeson-will-kill-everyone trend in his movies.
yeah, though they are becoming rather comical..
"Becoming" implies there was ever a point where a film like 'Taken' could be wathed with a straight face. Even the last half hour of 'Begins' is just brilliant one-liners and misanthropy.

None the less, that video was glorious.

There is a distinct lack of Big Boss in this thread. Why is that?
Aside from him, Auron and General Iroh would be my next picks.

Am I right?

Uh, I recognize most other people in this thread...but who's that? He looks like Jamie Hyneman + Adam Savage.

First guy I thought of was Uncle Iroh.

Best series moment for Uncle is from "Tales of Ba Sing Se" is he is mugged, but instead critiques the guys stance, disarms him, does an impromptu class in knife-fighting technique, has a cup of tea with him, and goes into career counselling mode.
