list the bands you love that no one seems to know about cause they aren't mainstream.

Some bands i like that fall under this catogory:

-Brad Sucks
-Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly!
-Aesop Rock
-Band of Horses
-The Unicorns
-Brand New
-TV on the Radio

and for some reason none of my friends seem to know who Phoenix or Bloc Party are which is wierd to me.

So post bands (any genre of course) that you like that you don't think are as big as they should be or that no one else knows about and maybe a youtube video or something of there best song to get a preview.

I agree with you about TV on the Radio, a couple other bands none of my friends seem to know about are the Black Keys, Japandroids, and Morphine.

Edit: Videos! I don't wanna take up a huge amount of space by embedding each so here's some links.
Black Keys, 'Just Got To Be': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBPGm4Fbo0Q

Really? Do you live in England, because they're massive here.

Mine is Moxy Fruvous. A Canadian folky band, compared to Barenaked Ladies often but I like them better.

Clubfoot is a pretty big song. The music video came with every launch PSP, was in midnight club 3, and got plenty of radio airplay. After that, they have been on the radar, just not popular.

The Protomen. You know you're dealing with a band destined for obscurity when they make an implausably awesome rock opera based on Megaman, of all things. I love 'em.

Blow up Betty, although they've been on hiatus for over a year now.
And it never ceases to surprise me how many people have never heard of Veruca Salt.
