Harry potter saga, and "Final Del Juego" (End of the Game) by Julio Cortazar. That guy was so awesome...
Congrats! That makes you the second Cortázar fan I've met here. (I'm the third.)
Nice to know that there's someone around here like me lol.

The Name Of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
This. And I'm ecstatic to find someone other than myself and MaxTheReaper who knows of this hidden gem.
It's a great book, love the main character, though im a little peeved its such a long wait until the sequel comes out, it was left so wide open.

I'd have to say "Into Thin Air" by Jon Krakauer. There's something about his style of writing that just eats you whole and won't let you go until the book is read.

Jon Krakauer is by the way the author who also wrote "Into The Wild" which practically made the same-titled movie possible in the first place.

...The book that comes as a close second is the psychology book "När du gör som jag vill" (that's Swedish for "When you do as I want to") by Henrik Fexeus.
I have his Konsten Att Läsa Tankar (The Art of Reading Minds would be the direct translation), he's a very entertaining and sharp guy.
I'm thinking of getting that book. I've always wanted to be able to read between the lines of what people are saying.
I strongly recommend it! It's funny how one is affected by his writing, that book really makes me look at people differently and it also helps understand and improve communication on a face to face basis, which is helpful not only for "reading minds" but also just for the sake of being able to converse and bond better :)

His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, in particular The Amber Spyglass. I don't care if they're "kids" books, I loved them then and I love them now, nothing I've read since has come close to captivating me in the way those books did.

I'm into many different fantasy series, but my favorite book (which happens to be a single, though there is rumor of a sequel eventually appearing) is Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.

I wish I could have met Kurt Vonnegut. His memoir was hilarious.
