Amaterasu
[snip]

You didn't say they needed to be human.
Darn, you beat me to it. I love Amaterasu to death.

Hmm, if I'm inclined to go with a different one, I'll go with Elaine Marley

Other than her, I enjoyed both Olivia Ofrenda and Mercedes Colomar from Grim Fandango, Naoto Shirogane and Chie Satonaka from Persona 4, and I also kinda like early depictions of Samus.

Captcha: beats me

It kinda fits since I had to really try and remember female characters I liked, and it took a bit of time for me to jog my memory.

From anime: Kaworu Nagisa, Neon Genesis Evangelion; I mean someone had to teach that whiny Shinji what love is. Plus I like how enigmatic he is.

From video games:
Craig Boone, Fallout: New Vegas because he is one BAMF sniper dude.

Oghren, Dragon Age: Origins partly because he's funny and a badass, and partly because he's voiced by Steve Blum AKA Spike Spiegel.

God there are so many. But of them all, Alistair from DA, Shepard from MA, Garak from DS9, Sisko from DS9, Trent from Freelancer, and ofc Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly, Jane from Firefly.

Thanks for bringing my childhood crashing back.
The local Forbidden Planet store has loads of stuff from that series. I should buy some of it.

OT: I'm not really good at picking characters, but...
I guess Honor Stephanie (Alexander-)Harrington is one of my favourites.
Anyone who likes sci-i books, ship combat, etc, should definitely read the Honor Harrington books by David Weber.
I believe you can get some of the earlier ones for free online.
Oh, and a pic of Honor, with her Treecat, Nimitz

I don't really know. Too many characters so my list will never ever be the same twice but here we go.
Jak, particularly in Jak 2.
Daxter in all 3 Jaks.
Does Wheatley count?
Spiderman in the newest movie was pretty cool.

Mine are, in no particular order

These are the ones I thought of off the top of my head.

Let's see...

1)The Mane Six (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) Maybe this is cheating, but I honestly like all of them (plus Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and Derpy)
2) Belle, Tiana, Mulan (Disney movies) Because unlike other Disney Princesses, they actually do something instead of sitting around and wishing all the time.
3) FemShep (Mass Effect) Obviosuly
4) Elizabeth Swan( Pirates of the Carribean) Mainly because they developed her from a damsel in distress to a badass in her own right.

He's still the best character in the I.T. crowd, even if
he is dead

1. Bridget Jones.

I love Bridget Jones. I love her personality and I just love all the scrapes she gets herself into. These films are comedy classics despite what anybody says!

2. Lois Lane in Smallville. She is just so awesome and pretty badass and right from the beginning of the show when she turned up I just wanted to kick Lana Lang in the backside to get her off screen.

3. Commander Shepard - I pretty much just based her on me and I like myself.

4. Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice. A strong independent for her time who pulled Colin Firth. GET IN!

5. Toshiko Sato in Torchwood. Clever, pretty and did not need all the big bangs to be an awesome character. She was intelligent and solved problems using logic rather than blasting it with a gun.

Yes, I was talking about Brotherhood.

which you shouldn't be because Brotherhood is awful.
Lies and opinions! I liked it because it was closer to the manga and because Ed and Winry actually got together at the end. =3

I shall only include characters that are human (or part human), and are actual characters (not avatars of the player).

I didn't like him at first, when the series started, but I liked him more as it progressed.

A sarcastic, smart, know it all, as well as extremely arrogant, but with layers of depth.

They all have their own quirks and personalities, and they all make the series special in their own right.

Admittedly I prefer him in the books as he isn't quite so stupid for the sake of plot progression.

I generally dislike the word, but he is a badass.

He is just too damn cool.

I'd have to say the one and only Alan Partridge.

AH HAAAAAAA! Love that show. :)

Mine would be that old army general guy from Valkyria Chronicles that teaches you new tactics in the graveyard. I just find him way too awesome than I should.

But following the comic is exactly why it's stupid!
I don't particularly care aboot the Ed/Winry thing, so no dice there.

Rorschach from Watchmen, because while he's insane with a questionable method for dealing out his own personal form of justice, he's just badass and a sympathetic character, due to the unfortunate circumstances that led to him becoming the man that he was.
