Hey guys, so I've been into creepypastas for a about year now, and can't find one that gives chills or excites me (by exciting I mean going "oh crap oh crap, whats going to happen next?" I tend to like ones more grounded in reality (aka Jeff the Killer) and I heavily dislike pop up or random sound scares, though if they put actual dread and not make me jump up in reaction then sure.

Also, what is your favorite creepypasta and why?

I like short, simple ones. That's just a rule of thumb I go by. Long ones can be good but more often than not they end up being overly descriptive. Abandoned by Disney is a long one that I like, even if it is super cliche at some points.

My favorite one is about the babysitter and the creepy clown/angel/etc. statue. I mean yeah it comes from an old urban legend but it survived this long for a reason.

The SCP ones are really good. They are about a fictional agency dealing with just about the craziest thing you can imagine, the stories are all written like official reports. They have their own website you should check out if you haven't already.

I know of some of the "Haunted Gaming" creepypastas on youtube that are pretty good, you should check some of those out.

I agree that abandoned by Disney has so many cliches, but the imagery had a lasting affect on me for a few days after I heard it read on Youtube, I still can't look at Mickey Mouse without thinking about it.

If you're gonna find one that creeps you out, it's gonna be here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.211546-The-scary-thread]

Monitoring to read a few tomorrow... in day light. I'd rather not keep myself up tonight :D

Squidwards Suicide is pretty fucked. There was this one I read awhile back about a guy who felt he was being watched through his webcam or something like that becoming a shut in and hallucinating. Even unplugging the thing and breaking it but still feeling watched.. or something like that. If I find it i'll post it.

edit* Psychosis is what it's called. Pretty long but def worth the read in my opinion.

I was always a fan of the Candle Cove creepypasta, which I eventually traced back to the absolutely fantastic Ichor Falls. Sadly, it doesn't appear to update anymore, really, but there are a lot of great stories on there worth reading.

Oh, and for the benefit of everyone here, I gift unto you, the majesty of Bowiepasta:

"Daddy, I had a bad dream."

You blink your eyes and pull up on your elbows. Your clock glows red in the darkness ? it's 3:23. "Do you want to climb into bed and tell me about it?"

"No, Daddy."

The oddness of the situation wakes you up more fully. You can barely make out your daughter's pale form in the darkness of your room. "Why not sweetie?"

"Because in my dream, when I told you about the dream, the thing wearing Mommy's skin sat up."

For a moment, you feel paralyzed; you can't take your eyes off of your daughter. The covers behind you begin to shift.

"Baby, just you shut your mouth..."

David Bowie erupts from the covers, tossing your dead wife's skin aside like one of his famous stage costumes. "David mother fucking Bowie!" you and your daughter scream in unison.

"This ain't rock n' roll... This is GENOCIDE!" he screams, materializing a flaming guitar out of the ether and into his hands. He proceeds into a jam session that results in a horrific block fire killing thirty seven people and was hailed by Rolling Stone as the greatest concert of the decade.

What's the one with the apple? I couldn't find the full thing but the general story is about a show on Nick Jr. where an Apple on a Stick with creepy eyes would talk about how to treat injuries. It had 6 episodes and the injuries got more and, more intense until it just showed corpses while the apple watches with cold dead eyes or something like that...

I kinda liked Ben Drowned too...Squidward Suicide was really good too. Dead Bart was another one that I got into for a bit.

The SCP foundation has some genuinely creepy ones. Shy guy is pretty good, scp-231-7 is just unnerving, really sticks with you. Some of them are more weird/paranormal than creepy, but it's worth a look, since it started as creepypasta.
