Well as a rather academic scholar of Dracology
Interesting that I found this thread. I've been interested in Dracology but don't know where I'd start, any books you'd recommend?

As far as favorite dragon, I can't answer that because I don't have a favorite anything, too hard of a choice and it'll change the moment I make a decision anyways.

That's just an impossible question for me to answer...I love so many!
But...yeah, second post ninja'd me. If I was being completely honest, Flammie still warms my heart.
I remember playing Secret of Mana and finally getting that drum; It was like summoning my own Falkor. (who isn't in video games, but is a great dragon regardless)

*is a massive dragon fan. Hell, just look at my username!*

ooh....Tough tough tough...

For now, I'm thinking of Ventuswill from Rune factory 4.

For crying out loud, shes essentially the guardian deity of the town, with all the seriousness that that implies...But from the very first moment you meet her you see that it's all an act and she's a silly, fun loving, cooky lady dragon who adores pancakes whenever she's not putting on her BIG BOOMING VOICE when visitors show up. XD

Paarthurnax from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
I mean, an old dragon that betrayed his kin to help the mortals and is voiced by Mario, what's not to like?

Grigori from Dragon's Dogma. Assuming you aren't way over leveled for his boss fight, that is how a fight with a sentient dragon should be.

Ithilgore from Might and Magic 8. You can get him and his ability to fly super early, plus having a dragon party member was really awesome as a kid.

Grigori from Dragons Dogma

Also one of the best boss fights I've ever done. It was an event.

Plus when he starts talking to you, what a voice.

What's cooler than a dragon?

A dragon made of dragons, that's what.

(Pity the fight was underwhelming...)

They had so much potential with Zhaitan, it's too bad... the hype really bit Anet in the ass with just about everything in Guild Wars 2. I remember when The Shatterer was shown and they indicated Zhatain would be 50 times the size of that. Yeah...

OT: I'd say the concept of Zhaitan as being a dragon of undeath is pretty neat, as is his design ( I like the horns).

But I've got to give it to Black Dragon Kalameet. Most intense dragon boss fight I've ever done.

Ryu from Breath of Fire - he's a dragon that turns into other dragons! (Though bahamut and fou-lu are close seconds).

I was actually considering starting up a thread similar to this...

Anyways, my favourite dragon ever would probably have to be Niv-Mizzet from Magic: The Gathering... but seeing as how we're talking about video games and not the card variety, I'm gonna have to go with one that I'm surprised nobody has mentioned yet...

Spyro. Not gremlin spyro, or supersrs dark spyro. Orwhateverfuckin iterations marketers decided to go with later. The true original. The parody spyro. I love him, in his lil shades.

I've always had a special place in my heart from Nozdormu from Warcraft. Poor guy may be the master of time but he's never been allowed a break.

Malygos, too, had a very tragic life. 10,000 years of madness sounds like a *****.
