Usually Redguard or Dunmer, because I like playing a cross between rogue and warrior, and I tend not to be big on magic except for the odd bit of destruction. That and I like those races a lot, but I quite like playing High Elf too and playing the same way. I just like elves and shit, but if I play properly I iron out the insufficiencies that they have for the way I play.

I always find myself playing an Argonian just for the convenience of breathing underwater and other bonuses. That and I like how they look.

Khajiit for me. I love them. I love animal-people in general and I also find their lore to be interesting. Plus, Eye Of Night is so useful! Argonians are a close second though. Reptilian beasts are slick as hell, and their abilities are fantastic too.

Orcs, too long have they been looked down upon in fantasy games.

Rise up my Orcish brothers! Rise up and show the world what we can do!

I love Dunmer, they are probably the best for an all rounders and I like to play a stealthy mage.

I've always been a fan of Nords and Dunmer, they always seemed to be the most awesome of the lot. That said, I'm currently playing as an Altmer, mainly because I'm playing a full blown mage so I can get a missed achievement.

I absolutely hate Bosmer, though. I think it may have something to do with them frequently being arrogant and selfish in Oblivion and may have something to do with the fact that they're incredibly short.

Khajiit, I like playing as a female one because I like cats :3. I also love that 'ears back' thing the Npc's do when they are upset or shocked in Oblivion. I usually play them as an 'assassin' Bow, sneak, lockpick. etc. My Skyrim one is going to be called N'yan Mewnsugar.

My first run through was a Redguard (who had blue skin) and I really liked him, especially when I decided to go for a guerrilla style fighter, being able to sneak when I wanted to but fight if I had to was great. Then I discovered the Dunmer, and I perfected my craft by adding better destructive capabilities with his magic. I've always wanted to play as an Argonian but my understanding is they're only useful for stealth and some magic, not so much in head to head combat, which is rather unfortunate.

For me it's:

3. Dark elf/Dunmer
4. High elf/Altmer
10. Wood elf/Bosmer

I love the elves in the elder scrolls series. They're all so diverse and interesting.

They also don't like each other very much...makes for some interesting elven politics.

I always played Nord female, since I'm not a big fan of Magika i wanted to go for a race that was more suited to a physical combat style. I love the Nord Lore as well and am so glad that Skryim will explore it to a greater extent.

The problem with being a more sword and shield character is the fact that i advoided the mages guild missions because of my lack of interest of magic beyond healing, and that it took ages to build up my sneak skill to a good level to play the Thieves guild/ Brotherhood mission.

What's not to love about Khajiit? They're agile, strong, stealthy and they're probably made if only to pander to an online sub culture :3. Yes, I love me some Khajiit. And hell, another bonus is that due to the night eye power I have a free left hand for when I'm in dark area in which I'd often need a torch.

My second favourite is Elves simply because I love both range and agility and they're probably amongst my favourite mythical creatures.
