For those of you who aren't familiar with the term, F2P stands for "Free to Play". There are many of different kinds of (most commonly role playing) games available out there, from your point and clicks, WoW look a likes, and even action-based dungeon crawlers. It's not just solely for RPG's either, as there are even F2P first and third person shooters (Project Blackout, S4 League). I have to say, it's kind of nice to take a break from the console wars and all the AAA games that get pumped out like clockwork and play some titles that would have otherwise been ignored. What are your favorite F2P's?

My favorites (in no particular order really):

-Dungeon Fighter Online (an old-school 2D arcade style RPG with a Double Dragon type of feel. Easily my favorite among the list!)
-Grand Chase (mix side scrolling action of Megaman type games with jumping and combo mechanics similar to that of Super Smash Bros.)
-Angels Online (Nothing too fancy about this point and click, but it's rather entertaining, and I don't even like those kinds of games.)
-S4 League (A very addicting third person shooter with face paced action, fun jumping mechanics, and a mix of guns and swords that works surprisingly well).

though not strictly free to play because you have to make an initial purchase Guild Wars is a great game well worth the purchase!

RUNESCAPE!!! Time to go mine some rune essence to get ze money!
If I'm not mistaken, Runescape still holds the record of the largest fanbase of a free to play game. I've never actually got into it, but there was a time when all my friends were all about it and you ultimately weren't cool unless you played.

Dwarf Fortress

Because what other game has "Catsplosion" near the top of it's "How you Lost the Game" list. And remember. Losing is Fun!

Me it has to be ether Gaia (does that count?)

It used to be Pokemon Crater back when I was like ten. That online game was amazing until they shut the site down ):

Also I was into VMK (Virtual magic kingdom) this cute little IMVU thing made by Disney until they closed that down as well :/

I play S4 league almost everyday as well as Vindictus and PWI
How is Vindictus? The gameplay looks absolutely awesome at a glance, but it seems like jobs and classes are limited.

Phantasia 4
Sim League Hockey @ WhatIfSports

Madden NFL Superstars

None are great, but all are good in their own right.

Vindictus is fun but it has some set backs and i think there are only 4 classes 3 last time i played
That's a shame. I like a variety of different job options to boot.

I haven't found a favorite F2P game yet, but I'm looking. I'm so far liking Perfect World and (still looking at other options).

I have Dungeons and Dragons Online, Alien Swarm, I Wanna Be the Guy, and technically I got Portal when it was free. Nehrim is also free, but it required Oblivion first so that may not count.

I only beat Portal once, and don't really play DDO, AS, or IWBTG that much (college work and all that). But the option to always have them around if I need them is very nice.

I haven't played it personally, but the guys over at mmogamer.com seem to have a lot of good things to say about it. I heard that it's character customization is unparalleled to other F2Ps.
