My favourite game is Final Fantasy 6. Whenever I say I'm a fan of Final Fantasy, people always mention the games 11 and up and parade around about how lousy the series is. When I mention the games 9 and prior, they look at me with the stupidest expression. I hate the newer Final Fantasies. -.-
Good to know I am not alone in the world. I throught that Old FF fans had all been killed. Or killed themselves in depresson becaues FF 13 pushed them just over the edge. There is only so much dissapointment a human can take.

There's also the "Destroy All Humans!" Series, I loved the first two, especially the second one with all it improved and brought forward, Big Willy unleashed was pretty fun... Then came the third game. The graphics looked utterly terrible, I'm not sure if it's just the copy I got, but everything was pixly and ugly. Destroying buildings took a lot more work, mostly because they wanted to show off the new mechanics and how you can "Write your name on a building" (That's hard enough to do, can I just destroy it already?) For some reason you couldn't jump while possessing a person, which was a PAIN since that meant if they fall into a pit, or even in some cases, try to walk over the freaking street curb, they'd just run in place. I never even got past the first area I hated that game so much.
Neither Big Willy Unleashed or Path of the Furon were made by Pandemic Studios.

I wouldnt say COD sequels after World at War (the pacific campaign saved that game as that front wasnt touched in any games previously, although the russian campaign was good there almost always has been russian elements before) although i feel that have definately stagnated, especially in MP

what game i would say is Empire Total War. it was awesome (napoleon is a glorified expansion)where as shogun 2 is no where near as good (campaign diplomacy and stability aside) as the battles differ from the technical tactics needed for empire to the boring all out samuri charge that shogun 2 has become

I loved Gothic one and two, with their excellent level design, deep characters and astounding animation for their time. And then things were wrecked to hell when Gothic 3 came out and took all those things away. Since then the franchise has moved to America and I haven't even touched 4.

Jak and Daxter the Lost Frontier.

It wasn't so much a crappy game, hell I've never even played it.
But a dick move was pulled and it wasn't released on PS3.

The Summon Night Sword Craft Story series. Started on the GBA with simple but effective and nice linear motion combat instance battle system. The first three were great but then the series immediately got destroyed when they made the change from the GBA NDS where they promptly swapped out the great Tales of series style real-time combat game play to crappy overused turn-based game play. Not saying that turn-based games are bad or inferior, but they way that they did it was bad. They also did point and click style combat like most generic fantasy mmorpgs which killed me. They had a perfectly great combat system but they just had to go and destroy it.

Halo, went downhill for me when they started focusing on multiplayer rather than a campaign that lasted more than a couple of hours.

Mass Effect, apart from looking pretty there was nothing I liked about ME 2

For me, (although they are sequels in themselves), Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts II. Nothing of the same franchise that succeeded either were any good. Prequels rocked, though.

Call of Duty.

I used to play it all the time, with friends on LAN, online, spam the campaigns, the works. COD: World at War was the last COD I paid money for and played.

none, if "X game" is a really good game then how can "X game 2" effect how amazing "X game" is?
I second this motion. I don't understand how playing a 'bad' sequel can possibly change how much you may have enjoyed the original game.

Just don't play the sequel any more and go back to playing the first game again.

Crash Bandicoot. Hands down. The 1st one was the first game I owned, the second improved, and the third was a classic. Then Sony kicked out Naughty Dog and it all went to hell.

The first game sucked, though, but nostalgia.
Agreed man agreed I can still put in one of the ps1 games and have a lot of fun with it now the games are abominations to those great games
Naughty Dog should just regain the rights to the franchise so we can have a decent game
I know, they even fucked up his character design now. What the hell is he? A monster-bandicoot hybrid? Really. The first thing they should do is bring back his original character design and then make it a platformer. Stop with all this extra shit. Get back to the basics.

I liked Warcraft until they made it into an MMORPG, and suddenly the fun was gone (in my opinion)...

Also, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. The first Tales of Symphonia was an awesome game, the sequel... well, it had a considerable amount of flaws. And I'm still majorly pissed that they had to go and change the voice cast for some reason.

I could have had Scott Menville and Johnny Yong Bosch, two of my all-time favorite English voice actors, working together in the sequel for one of my all-time favorite JRPGs! GAAAAAAHHHH!!!

...Sorry, bit of nerd rage there...

Bioshock. Seriously, after the abomination that was Bioshock 2, i can't even look at the first one without sighing.
The gameplay was improved but the plot was truly awful. I felt they should have focused on more supernatural elements like the ghosts and the little sister fantasies instead of just bland level after bland level bar the Ryan Theme Park.

Fable 1 and TLC seemed really good and after that Fable 2 and 3 ruined it. The worst part was Fable 3 was decent until the ending
Well they could've easily focused more on anything else if they weren't trying to shoehorn in the god awful multiplayer. I completely forgot about poor Fable, then again it's pretty easy when the last two have been ass baskets. And that's slated to become three when "The Journey" comes out...

Funny. I had a similar experience with the first game.
