Overall, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. However, a competitor looks to be coming: Medal of Honor.
Question: Did you play that Beta?
Follow up, have you ever played a medal of honor game before?

My favorite game ever would be Halo 2.
Yes and Yes. I was a MoH fan before I was a CoD fan.

B-but... what about Medal of Honor makes it a potential favorite game ever? There's a problem in saying that any unreleased game has a chance to be your favorite, but it seems to me that Medal of Honor, in particular, shouldn't be a candidate.
I don't understand what you're saying. lol. It will take a lot to topple CoD4, but MoH has the potential. I played the beta and loved it. Haven't loved MP like that since CoD4.
I'm saying that Medal of Honor looks like an uninspired, bland, brown clone of your favorite game. Polished, maybe fun... but your favorite? Ah, well. Whatever works for you.
Well I won't argue the color thing. Afgahnistan only has so many shades. But I think it's more colorful then it would appear. I don't want to play the story to an 80's action flick though. The campaign is inspired by missions done by the Tier 1 guys. I like military shooters. I like Halo, but all the bright colors makes it hard for me to take it seriously. Plus I have many friends who are in the military on my friends list, and we all enjoy these games.

Too many to count, but I'll name a few. Ten to be precise. Kingdom Hearts 2, Half-Life: Source, Counter-Strike: Source, Red Dead Redemption, Portal, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3, (You don't even have to be a Dragon Ball Z fan to like it!) Zelda Wind Waker, inFAMOUS, Just Cause 2, and Okami.

My favorite game? That's a good question. I'll go with my two favorite games, the one I played the most, and the one I can't get sick off: Urban terror, and imperialism.

It's not a blockbuster big game, far from it. It's a free total conversion mod for Quake 3. But that game is everything a good first-person should be: It's fun, it's paced fast, it offers a good balance between action and tactics. Also, the game allows you to wall jump, something that makes the game 600% more awesome. The fact that thousands still play this is a testament to it's awesomeness.

Google Urban terror.Get the game. Play it.
Just like to point out that since 2007 Urban Terror no longer needs a copy of Quake 3T to play. The complete game is available for free. Gameplay and setting wise, Rainbow Six on turbo mode. Fast and frantic or slow and strategic. Both are viable play styles. Not criticizing just clarifying.

While were on the topic of free games I would like to mention the FPS Nexuiz. Not a F2P Korean thing either (same with Urban Terror). Nexuiz is arena based, has current gen visuals, and an actual single player mode. Check it out.

As for my favorite game: Three-way tie between Cave Story, Supreme Commander, and Half-Life 2

Cave Story is also free and is a platformer in the vane of the early Metroid games that this poster thinks anyone who views games as an art from needs to play. Story, gameplay, artwork, music: all excellent and all made by one man over five years. So, yeah Cave Story is my favorite.

Oddworld Abe's Oddysee.

It has real nice graphics for it's time, it's VERY challenging, and the protagonist; Abe, is just a really likable character. Not to mention it's pretty damn, well, Odd.
