It could be meteroites, zombies, nuclear war, alien invasion, or something completely different. What's your favorite end of the world scenario?

Mine would have to be collapse of modern technology. Basically a global EMP kind of scenario. It's simple yet world ending.

The one where realistic virtual sex is created and there are no more generations.
It'd certainly be the funnest I can think of.

Alien invasion or zombie apocalypse, or giant sea monster.

When I worked in retail, during the endless mind-numbingly boring hours in between verbally fencing with presumptuous customers, I'd fantasise about the apocalypse. I created an entire Spaced-esque scenario in which the lockers in the break room were secretly full of guns and ammo; we'd take refuge behind the security door and strategise, using the town-centre wide radio system to communicate with the various other businesses holed up after the disaster. There was never a conclusive end to my fantasy, so as to keep it fresh each painfully slow summer day in retail.

In reality, I'd just curl up in a ball and pray to be back working a dead-end job.

Mythical beasts and heroes (doesn't matter which particular ones or from which particular circle of legends) come to modern day earth to fight eachother and wreck fucking everything. Even better when there's a world spanning human conflict beforehand.
My favorite example for this is Day After Ragnarök.
In 1945, Nazi wizards wake Jörmungandr in an attempt to turn the tide in a war they already believe lost. America fulfills the role of Thor, nukes the thing in the eye and gets drowned in venomous radioactive snakeblood for it. The ice giants march towards Moscow. In the northern hemisphere, dustclouds blot out the sun. Trolls, demon wolves and all kinds of crazy shit flood the world. What remains of humanity is plunged into anarchy and barbary, tiny havens form in the pacific to hold off the end for a precious few more years.

Anything that kills off 99% of the population. Realistically that's the only way everyone would have enough supplies for a couple of years, so that they could get started rebuilding the world.

Also, it'd be really nice as Britain is pretty damn overcrowded.

I would prefer the one that doesn't happen... during my time here at least. When I'm out of the game any meteorites or aliens are free to join on earth.

Women throughout the world strip naked and attempt run around the world, proceeding to trample and demolish everything in their path. Men will tremble before their unexpected might helplessly and go to their graves still not knowing what the hell goes on in the minds of women. Sadly, the women will drown.

In a bizarre turn of events, some cows will manage to survive and graze on what little vegetation the Earth will have left and start to fertilize the land. Magic mushrooms and canabis will grow from the ground, resulting in cows getting enhanced sentience when they graze on that. They will discover their intelligence, realize that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration and that we are all one consciousness exploring itself subjectively, that we are all made of the same basic universal material and there is no need to differentiate one another and that war and hatred is meaningless and all things that cause these are deemed to be outlawed throughout the known universe...and then go back to grazing.

Until the planet's life ends. In peace.

My favourite kind of apocalypse is the one where nobody I care about dies. I don't care if it's zombies, meteors, aliens, disease... as long as my loved ones survive it.

Nuclear war. Wait no, zombies (infected). Nah, Epidemic of some disease (non-zombie). Wait, too boring.

Actually, I don't know.
[sup]...But nuclear war is likely[/sup]

The Fall of Technology

The unprepared masses not knowing what to do, slowly dying out due to lack of food, medicine and knowledge.
40 years on, the population of the world has been cut down to just one third, bandits still run rabid, governments have been abandon for years and towns became independent.
In this environment it's survival of the fittest.

The one where all the lawyers die.

Scenario-wise I think it goes to zombies. Easily the most survivable threat as long as they're the classic shufflers. None of that crazy shite like hunters, lickers & fast zombies. I'd rather take a face full of buckshot than try to live with those things running around.

Is that picture just a random one or is it from something? It looks cool.

That would mean you have a very high chance of dying too you know. And the most likely apocalypse for that is probably meteroites. It killed off the dinosaurs so I'm sure it can kill off most of humanity.

The art is by this [http://pinktentacle.com/2010/08/post-apocalyptic-tokyo-scenery/] guy and is absolutely amazing.

I'm assuming I'd be one of the survivors but that is a given. A specially designed bacterium or virus might be able to get a high enough kill rate, depending on how professional it was. Especially if it was combined with something like an asteroid strike.

I prefer zombie apocalypse for as long as you know what to do, then there's a possibly you can survive
