I have no favourite, but I do have an ever increasing list of bands and artists that I really need to hear more of, either because I've heard some of their stuff already (mostly the case, especially with the Live At Leeds event and my recent time spent in the Undercover tent at V Festival), or because I've been informed they're pretty good. Here's a selection of some of the bands and artists on said list. One of them, Emma's Imagination, I bought the album from last week, but I've had no time to listen to it, so... :p

Mother...Fucking Warpaint!

Whenever I hear something like Katy Perry, then i don't hear about these talented bunch of girls, it's just depressing.

These girls are attractive, but at the same time, they make some great music. Surely that's something to cherish in this day and age.

I've seen them twice, and have shook hands with all of them (which was a dream come true, I might add). They live up to their music, and fingers cross they get big soon.
Holy crap, apart from a girl I was talking to at a Warpaint gig I saw, you are the first person I've interacted with in any way who likes, or has even heard of, Warpaint, who I've not had to introduce to the band's music myself. We seem to be a rare breed, though on my part that may be down to me being from the UK. Either way, you have won my respect and admiration for life. Kudos, my good fellow, kudos. Plus, I kind of have a crush on every one of the girls, so yeah...

Anyway, if you like Warpaint, I urge you to give Esben And The Witch a listen. Main songs to listen to are Argyria, Hexagons IV, and Marching Song. Basically, they're a British version of Warpaint crossed with the lyrics and morbid sense of Florence And The Machine. And amazing to see live, I saw them in a crowd of around 30 or so in a small club under some railway arches, and the atmosphere was both extremely haunting and massively intense and creepy. Yet still awesome :D.

A solo artist rather than a band, but Martin Grech.

He's like Radiohead + Nine Inch Nails + something totally unique and awesome.

Kaizers Orchestra. Though, I'm not all too sure if it counts. It's apparently VERY popular in most of continental Europe (Norwegian in origin, after all) but I doubt Kaizer is too well known in the States.

Chronic Future and Black Lab. I know that Chronic Future is known out there among....people? But I wouldn't call them well-known. And Black Lab is perhaps one of the most underrated bands I've ever come across. Can't be bothered to post anything here, but if anyone is curious, look up Black Lab's album "Your Body Above Me". Worth your time.

I'll assume this also means favorite lesser known group/artist, not just exclusively band. So I will say Approaching Nirvana. Some guys on youtube who make awesome new era music.

Based on the very scientific "Asked some guys I know£ method, Lords of Acid don't seem that well known.

I am a big fan of The PanSexuals. Their blend of hiphop/rock/funk is absolutely ridiculous. And their lead singer is one of my favorite voice actors!
