Your favorite lesser known band

The Eyes of a Traitor. Relatively small British metal (techincally metalcore, for those who are picky) band. Idk if they are well known over there, but here in the US they are practically unknown, but I fucking love them.

OT: The Flaming Lips and I Fight Dragons.

High five for Flaming Lips love bro! I saw them this summer and it was absolutely without a doubt the best thing I have ever seen in my life. Also I met Wayne at a local record store got a picture and he signed my copy of Oh My Gawd!!!. Easily the greatest two days of my whole life.

OT: I have a major love for Beach House. They just make such beautiful music it always brings a tear to my eye.

They're not that well known, but I've noticed more attention being paid to their music (which is a good thing, I just know they'll unfortunately lose some fans over it). I've never heard a song sound so happy with such potentially dark lyrics
I generally don't like male artists either, but something about them I'm really loving.

Bullshit that they are "lesser known". Last week, they had a #1 hit on the pop charts, with that exact song, so less. It's currently at #2, which means it is selling more copies in the US than every single song that exists except for one other. They are very, VERY known.

I don't know what is and isn't mainstream, but here's some that I like that I don't think are too mainstream (But, I could be wrong). Stars, PlayRadioPlay!/Analog Rebellion, Beautiful Small Machines, Hellogoodbye, The Limousines, and The Wombats. Some of those might be mainstream, they all might be, I'm a total music noob...

I think they qualify as lesser known bands. The only people I know who have heard of them are friends I had listen to 'em. Also I don't pay attention to music to much(what is mainstream what isn't, who's popular, new artists, etc.)
