Your favorite moment in gaming

IGN recently did an article about this. But, I was wondering what your opinion is. What moment in your entire gaming career was your favorite or effected you the most? This thread will more than likely be rife with spoilers so read at your own risk.

When Sephiroth ran Aeris through in the cut-scene. I was shock swearing so loudly, my roommates came in to see what was wrong. When I explained she was currently a main character of the game and showed them the scene, they both had a similar reaction.

Indeed, one of the greatest moments in gaming. I recall being shocked and afterward got a bit misty eyed. Hell, if I listen to Aerith's theme just the music gets me emotional. I told a lot of people about this. They called me a pussy for crying during a video game. They simply don't understand.

Beating Riven without using a strategy guide or any walkthroughs.

I have never felt smarter or more accomplished.

That entire game was astounding when it came out *silent prayer to SE for a remake...*

OT: I would have to say that my favorite moment would actually have to be the first time I beat the Weapons on FF7... Runner up being between beating the following games (which were monumental occasions from my recollection):

Blaster Master (NES)
Kid Icarus (NES)
Mike Tyson's Punch Out (NES)
Mega Man 2 (NES)
Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest (NES) - I don't care what anyone says, I loved this game back in the day!

What can I say, they made hard freakin games back then, lol

Maybe not my favourite moment, but the most standout moment is the first time I played Halo CE. I'd always loved sci-fi, and I liked games. But that moment I stepped out of the escape pod, it just made me a gamer for life. It just happened, relatively unexplainable.

When I conquered Super Mario World. Every boss, every exit, the Special World, and every Dragon Coin (in the GBA version). Loved messing around in that game and I wish more modern Mario games would carry over power-ups from level to level (or at least bring Yoshi around the world).

Being able to plow through Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story without a strategy guide also makes me feel accomplished.

Also, Kirby Super Star. 'Nuff said.
