Scott Pilgrim has a game.

Shaun of the Dead game is basically Dead Rising I think.

Fight Club shouldn't have a game.

Sucker Punch the game would be a blend of Bayonetta and Psychonauts (from what I've heard about those two games).

Other than the fact that it would be terrible on account of being a movie game....

The Big Lebowski

Point and click adventure game?

Yojimbo - an open-world game where you walk the earth as a masterless samurai. Emphasis is on dialogue and planning. Fights are quick, brutal, and unforgiving. I'd play it.
Don't forget scheming and pitting both sides against each other.

Haha totally man. Really, why don't games do that sort of thing more often?

Shit... absolutely terrible, I'm sorry but there is no way that you can turn Good Will Hunting into a video game, and I enjoyed LA Noire!

District 9: I think it would work best as a first or third person shooter.
Serenity: Tons of potential.
Lord of the Rings: Already made, but they aren't very good...
Scott Pilgrim v.s. the World: Already made, and it's awesome.

2001: A Space Odyssey

The introduction cutscene to the game consists of the theatrical cut of the movie, in its entirety. The actual gameplay consists of wandering around a wide-open sandbox arguing with various people about what the point of it was. The main villain of the game, whom your primary objective is to avoid, is the one person who actually read the book and had a firm grasp of what was going on in the movie.

A Dynasty Warriors style game based off of Akira Kurosawa's Ran. I know Hideatora was a crippled old man, but it might be cool to see him slash his way out of his burning castle. Maybe turn all the soldiers into blazing demons to represent his fractured mind. Or let Team Ninja work on it. They would turn Lady Kaede in a busty fox lady.

The Crow. A shooter where your immortal. Possibly not the best idea but chances are it would be terrible anyway because games of movies always are.

Because it's too hard! /whine

On a semi related note: I'm always surprised that someone has actually seen a Kurosawa movie.

A game adaptation of the Shawshank Redemption?

I guess you'd have to do prison stuff. It'd be less based on the original movie and more a game based in the setting in Shawshank prison. Pretty much the only way it'd work.

Rather than do the gamer a huge disservice by revealing the plot of the movie in the game, I'd make up a new plot which coincides with the original story.

You also don't play as Andy, you'd play as a self-created character, with a chosen background education (you are educated, like Andy), and you hear and see bits and pieces of the characters and story of the movie while you play.

But to be honest I really don't know how I'd do really do the gameplay.

Really? I thought the LOTR games were amazing for licensed games. I guess that's not really a compliment when you think about it, but still, I liked them.

Hmm, a Watchmen movie would basically just be Batman: Arkham Asylum gameplay with different characters and setting.

My all time favourite flick is the 1986 film "The Fly" and I guess maybe if it was a horror themed point and click it might work, it might also be interesting to play on a sort of timer, but wouldn't necessarily end on the timer. The timed element would be finding some way around the metamorphosis even if that would contradict the science behind the film (No one said it had to be 100% faithful though) and the game would slowly alter you as per the movie and impair your ability to interact with the real world, twisting you into something further and further from saving yourself. It could be a creepy idea; but when I say the timer wouldn't "end" the game, if you failed and became the Brundlefly - maybe you could take over Virginia in a survival horror style sequence where you try to escape and survive the creature and destroy it.

I think I could see my 2nd favourite flick working as a survival horror/adventure game a bit more traditionally than The Fly; and that's Jacob's Ladder. In a way Silent Hill already borrows quite a bit from it and I suppose if they made it as desperate, lonely, and terrifying as the original film while expanding on the concept it could work as a Silent Hill or Amnesia style survival horror game.

It would be a 24 game (the PS2 one sucked so bad). It's a cover-based shooter with some heavy stealth elements and forensics/clue searching.

Kinda like L.A Noir + Heavy Rain + The Bourne conspiracy but done by a real developer who know their shit not some 3rd rate amateurs.

I can really see it working: Your mission is to find evidence in a hidden safe in a terrorist's house and as you're searching for clues as to find the safe and open it the trademark split-screen mode activates which shows the terrorist is coming back into the house and there's another screen with the people over at CTU behind computers telling me that he'll be back any minute.

As for movies... eh... I really wanted a really good Matrix game and "Path Of Neo" did that for me. But I'd like to see a new matrix game.

Damn.
If anyone else has seen "Sukiyaki Western Django" or "Casshern"
could you help me out here?
SWD would be an old west, probably Red Dead Redemption style, but would have bullet-time for samurai using a katana... Something like that.
Casshern would be... well wth I don't even. -_-

Actually I've changed my mine, Good Will Hunitng you be a great movie, it would play out as a RTS where the only unit you have is Will and there is nothing else to interact with other than a small mathbook, as not to spoil the movie.
