Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. It was one of the first movies I ever watched. And it contains everything you could ever want in a movie. Action? Drama? Romance? Horror? Suspense? Foreign Film? It's all of that and more.

Also, coming up behind it are Shaun of The Dead and The Fountain.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy. If I really had to choose one, I'd go with the first.
Ninja'd..

The books were still better by far. Can't wait for The Hobbit. It's the only thing that has any chance of dethroning Fellowship.

Gotta go with District 9. It's pretty much got everything I need, from intelligent themes down to badass alien weapons and power armor. After that, Tremors is definitely my favourite movie franchise; it's got both nostalgia and an uncanny ability to still hold up to my more evolved tastes today, and Burt Gummer has to be the single greatest character I've encountered in any movie. Plus, unlike most monster movie franchises, it never got stagnant; every movie added something new or had a generally unique feel to it. Hell, the fourth one was even a straight-up western. With giant man-eating worms.

It's hard to say, there are two movies I just love with all my heart. The winner of the two would have to be:

District 9

with Wall-E being a close second. I was pretty adamant about the film at first, not being too overly interested in seeing it thinking it was going to be a bit dry with little or nothing to do with the sci-fi aesthetic or go whole hog with an alien invasion like some modern day rehash of better sci-fi movies from the past. Boy, was I wrong. That movie did so many things I loved and to avoid going into full review/rave mode will not mention here.

Second on the list was Wall-E, which I was also adamant about going in, but less so since it was a Pixar film. While looking back a bit of it was not as stellar, the first portion of the movie on earth really hold up strong in my favorite movie moments.

Hands down has to be Albert Hitchcock's Psycho. This is what horror movies should be. It doesn't rely on gore, jump scares, or a disgusting premise to gross out or startle its viewers. Instead, the movie builds a tension filled atmosphere with a perfect musical score, excellent camera work, and interesting characters.

The other reason is the same that Bioshock is my favorite game of all time. The twist at the end is REALLY good and something you won't see coming. The best part is, when you re-watch the film, you can see the subtle hints that lead up to the big reveal. This actually makes the movie even better to watch the 2nd time around because there are lines that make you shutter in their irony.

edit:

is it weird that I'm only 19 and my favorite movie all time is from the 1960's? :p

Hard to pick just one but my top three which all change order depending on my mood are:

Empire Strikes Back - Childhood memories
Momento - Just plain brilliant way to tell a story
The Devil's Brigade - Nothing like the scene where the Canadians show the Americans how to be soldiers.

I have a lot of favourite films actually. If I was forced to pick he would be a rather little known film called Happy accidents that stars Vincent D'Onofrio. I am not usually a fan of romance films, but IMHO this was well written and the cast was amazing.

Well there's a lot of fantastic movies being mentioned here, but it looks like I have the honour, nay, the privilege of being the first person to say -

I'll go with Zombieland, even though I can't exactly place a reason.
It's probably Bill Murray. Bill Murray and zombies all in one film. That must be it.
