Ennio Morricone is the master of the universe when it comes to movie soundtracks. Ecstasy of gold is a classic, but for me by far his greatest piece has to be The Musical Pocket Watch from For a Few Dollars more. What a piece of music, and what a scene!

For me it's either Terminator 2 or the Lion King.
While T2 has the best track in movie history, the theme song, Lion King stands out with brilliant pieces like this:


Brilliant.


And of course, for reference, the Terminator 2 Theme song:


This one gives me goose bumps and brings a tear to my eye (for several reasons) every time I hear it.


Honorable mention goes to the Sherlock Holmes soundtrack.
