I love too many maps from UT99/2kx to list so I'll just avoid that. But my clear favorite from Halo 2 at least was a map called Terminal (I think). It was an asymmetric map that had two "bases" that were situated around a corner from one another. I think some gametypes included a Wraith as well. But it was basically the best assault/1 flag map I have ever played.

I always loved high ground from Halo 3 and Coagulation from Halo 2

Kowloon from Call of duty black ops was my favorite call of duty map (even If you don't like the map, admit it, the LOOK of it was awesome)

Isla insolences from Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (rush) was ALWAYS fun

Blood Drive from gears 2 and 3 still has that same great feeling

Aw man, I remember Kowloon. Loved that map. Think my favorite Black Ops map had to be the one that came in the same DLC Kowloon did, the one with the no-man's-land in the middle with the turrets and all, I forget it's name...

But as much as I love Treyarch, those are probably the only two Black Ops maps I liked. The rest were kind of samey and forgettable. Always enjoyed Infinity Ward's maps more. Hoping Treyarch step their game up for Black Ops II.

CoD1's mp_harbor. I used to play that map on a rifle only server for hours on end.

Wetwork on Cod4. I tended to avoid the grenade-spam meat grinder in the middle of the map and sat duelling other snipers from the ship's cabin. When they came to get me they got pistoled to death.

Another for mp_bloc. I used to race one of my mates to clear the side buildings with a silenced mp5 and uav jammer.

Strike was another good one. It tended to rotate so that one team chased the other around the map clockwise. I'd generally stay near the shop at the end of a street in what we referred to as the room of death.

Dragon Valley, Daking Oil Fields, Dalian Plant, Operation Road Rage, Operation Harvest, Kubra Dam, Wake Island and Sharqi Peninsula from Battlefield 2. Just great maps. If only the choppers weren't floating death platforms.

Wake Island from every Battlefield Game, Gulf of Oman and Sharqi Penninsula from BF2 and 3, Molokai from BF2142 (Titan Mode only map). If I'm not playing Titan Mode, my favorite BF map is Strike at Karkand, I don't mind the ground vehicles, but I love not having to worry about Attack Helicopters in Karkand. I haven't played much multiplayer due to previous poor internet, I don't think I've played anything but Battlefield, Planetside, and a bit of Quake, Blood, and Medal of Honor. Oh and Crimson Skies, but Crimson Skies was, you know, in the sky.

I've never owned a console but I played a lot of Mario Kart multi-player back in the day, I think it was Battlecourse 3? The one with the water anyway, that was really good.

Every map from CoD 4. Especially Backlot, Overgrown, Vacant, and Crash. That has (IMO) the best maps in the CoD franchise, with a few exception in other games, but im too lazy to list/remember what they are.

Favela in MW2 was really great. Jumping across rooftops knife-only. Fucking sweet.

2fort in TF2 is a classic. I could play that map for hours and not get bored.

Metalpolis in SC2. The most fun map in any RTS ever.

Valhalla in Halo 3. Just because it's awesome.

cp_gravelpit (TF2)

I want to have gravelpit's babies.
It's just amazing. It's one of the first maps from when TF2 first came out, and it's still nearly perfect in my eyes.

Langres in Company of Heroes. I've had so much fun on that map, and few people know how to properly play against the opening I use there, so I can just toy with them and be one step ahead the entire game.

Drydock in Tribes: Ascend. Just so much fun overall.

Arrogance in Heroes of Might and Magic 3. Me and my girlfriend played it recently, and the story descriptions for that map is just hilarious.

The snowfield level from 007 Nightfire... and the Chinese level from Timesplitters!

They are the levels I remember the most from gaming!

I also like the train, and pirate ship maps from Bomberman... the train ones were always great, and the pirate ship one was great, as everyone always forgot to look at the other boats... and the bridges were awesomely dangerous!

Bomberman ruled!

Crossfire and Crash and the other middle eastern map from CoD 4.
Sand from Halo 3, I loved those huge vehicle battles in that desert.

Sandtrap from Halo 3, specifically on Big Team Capture the Flag, where a whole new level was added to the game by the fact that the flag zones could be moved (they were on the back of invincible behemothic vehicles that came equipped with vehicle+players spawns within it as well as a mounted machine gun). Basically, the games would turn into the two vehicles circling each other whilst everyone tried to board the other team's vehicle to steal the flag, with players constantly spawning within the vehicles. It was surprisingly tactical chaos and absolute great fun.

More generally fantastically designed maps: Vacant, Crossfire and Crash from Call of Duty 4; although the entire game had very well designed maps, these three stand out above the others because they were extremely well designed to enable any weapon to function effectively: riflemen, submachine gunners, snipers, shotgunners and LMGers all had a place on these three maps, with any playstyle having a place within a game, from Rambos all the way to Campers.

My favorite map of all time was Seelow from World at War. I focused a lot on sniping and that was an excellent map to snipe on (for me, anyways).

I also quite like Grid on Black Ops and Venice from Assassin's Creed Revelations.

harvest_event from TF2.
Oh my god, I love this map. It's perfectly balanced, the exploding pumpkins make for interesting tactics and the layout rewards strategy and stealth.
