Harbour and PoW camp from the original call of duty, railyard from call of duty 2, sidewinder from halo, the 3 towers with low grav on UT (the name escapes me right now) and pretty much all of the maps from dystopia. I'll leave the list there lest it get ridiculously long.

Avalanche from Halo 3. So awesome to play CTF on and assault the enemy base to take the flag before they noticed.

Valhalla from Halo 3. It's so pretty!

Sandtrap from Halo 3. Movable flag spawns in 8 vs 8 CTF games, 'nuff said.

I do like Summoner's Rift in LoL. The equivalent map in DOTA 2 looks surprisingly different... It must be the trees and different jungle camp placements. The difference in how each side looks helps too.

Radiant is all nice and bright and the Dire side is all pitch black Mordor style. If I ever get into the DOTA 2 beta I doubt i'm going to like spawning on the Dire side.

Anyway the bush placements in LoL are what makes the map more fun I think. There's a Garen in every bush after all.

I really liked that one Rush map in Bad Company 2. The one where you get two transport choppers and some boats on the attacking side and get practically nothing on the defending side aside from one mounted turret. It moves onto the coast and then a base where the defenders get an attack chopper.

Dafaq is the name of that map?

- The prison map in the Splinter Cell:Conviction DLC.Really well made, shame it was just a hunter map and no storyline.

- Most the Halo 3 maps. Very well thought out, only a couple of maps that gave 1 team an advantage. I loved Valhalla for skyjacking banshee's - And then the barrage of "your a hacker" for doing so!

TF2's Dustbowl, and hearing everyone freak out over how I'm stabbing them all in the back.

Arica Harbor from Bad Company 2. The building-to-building combat in Conquest was tight, tactical, and extremely fun with friends.

Rat Race from Halo 3. It was a map dedicated to the best thing Halo 3 had to offer: the Warthog. Also, using vehicles in close quarters like that brought an interesting twist to gameplay.

Rust from Modern Warfare 2. Yeah, I said it. That map was the only joke in a game that took itself way too seriously.

Big Blue from Melee. Fighting on top of the cars was crazy, I loved it.

de_dust lolololol.

j/k don't shoot me. Yet.

There's an airport map (well, probably a dozen of them) for Duke 3D me and a friend spent countless hours killing each other on... yeah. It was pretty awesome. And he never did figure out how to get to the trip mines...

cp_foundry in TF2. That map that everyone plays for the achievements to get the Full Head of Steam? I still play on that map all the time, even thought I got the most monotonous achievement on the map (The Crucible, winning 137 games). It's just... so fun, so greatly mapped, the ammo and health dumps are generous, the map is playable for every class.

Zanzibar from Halo 2 and Highrise from CoD:MW2.
Really loved all the maps in MF2, my friends and I used to play a game on Estate we called king of the house.
Shit gets real when there's 4 players storming the same small house in a free for all.

I think most of my favorite maps have been mentioned already in this thread, between the Halo, COD and Battlefield Franchises thats most of my favorite maps.

Ghost Recon Future Soldier appeared to have some good maps but I've never set down and given it the time it likely deserved.

Pretty much all team fortress classic maps. Even though they've been reincarnated in team fortress 2 I miss the enormous courtyards between bases for sniping and rocketjump combat.

Dustbowl in particular changed a lot: you had to bring a flag to the capture point instead of just standing on it. The gates where also much smaller and thus extremely vulnerable to spam. Running through was suicide. So you got this really interesting situation where the whole team had to eat the spam so the flag carrier could make it through and than, hopefully, end the game in one glorious maneuvre. Usually a giant rocket jump right onto the capture point.

The Deck maps from the Unreal Tournament games, CP_Granary from TF2, Payload_2Fort (such a fun custom map) and the Horseless Headless Horsemann map from TF2's second Halloween event.

Halo:CE - Blood Gultch
Super Smash Bros. Melee - Hyrule Castle
Golden Eye - Facility
Mario Kart 64 - Block Fort (Battle)

I am sure there are plenty of others.

Anything but Nuketown.

Seriously though, facility on Goldeneye was a favourite, as is the Paris map (forget the name) on MW3, close but not too close.
