All right, I just got a new netbook and it doesn't exactly have top-notch hardware so most urrent generation, processor-killing behemoth games won't work on it. The only problem is that every game I own is a current generation, processor-killing behemoth. So if someone could offer me a list of cool old games to get I would be most appreciative.

Oh so, so so many!

- Heroes of Might and Magic 3
- Total Annihilation
- Flying Heroes
- Day of the Tentacle

Go check gog.com. They have a whole bunch of 'good old games' and they are all around $10 each!

EDIT: Wooo! 1337 posts! lol

My favorites right now (that work on my netbook) are Stronghold Crusader and Medieval Total War. I wish Fallout would work but that is defiantly a processor-killing behemoth,

EDIT: lol 1337 posts. Nice

Albion, check it out. Any rpg/sci-fi fan should play it. Its one of the best realized and deepest games I've played. Not to mention hard and fun.

Some of my favorites (that I know can be run in Windows Vista/7):

System Shock 2
Deus Ex
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Torchlight (it isn't old but it WILL run like a charm)
Red Alert 2

Grim Fandango
Worms
Starwars Battlefront
Kotor
Neverwinter nights
Starcraft
Diablo 2
Warcraft 3
Oddworld
Monkey Island

You can also just get fun indie games, like world of goo or audiosurf.

Maybe an emulator (emulators are legal but if you want to load roms onto it that's your own business)

Read this article. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/103252-Telltales-Great-Adventure-Bundle-Offers-6-Games-for-20] Those games ought to hold your attention for a couple weeks, at least. Too bad the sale ends in a couple days.

American McGee's Alice.

That game was awesome, still is, and probably always will be (at least, to me).
