Elvis - Roggenrola - again obvious
Twin99!- Vaniluxe - I know people complain he looks silly, but Ice is my favourite type and also Ice Cream - secondary name idea was Mr. Whippy
Goku- Lucario - in honour of the brawl version being voiced by the same voice actor

Tiduck- Swanna
Derpgong- Seel
Illuminati- Ampharos

Prosciutto is also a good emboar name. Really any cooked pig meat.

A while back I found my Pearl game. I decided to load it up and check out my box.
Turns out I had a Starly going by the name of SHITTYCOCK (yes all caps) just sitting there.
That was fun.

The only time I've ever nicknamed my Pokemon was on my second playthroughs of Heartgold and Leaf Green.

Leaf Green team:
1. Charizard: Igneel (After the dragon of Fire from Fairy Tail)
2. Aerodactyl: Aeroleous (After the greek god of wind)
3. Starmie: Lucian (The name lucian can be translated to illusive or illusion and since Starmie is part Psychic it works.)
4.Sandslash: Roll (After Hibari's Hedgehog from Hitman Reborn.)
5.Golem: Daigo (I got lazy with this one, Daigo is the Ruby champion Steven's Japanese name, which pretty much means stone.)
6.Raichu: Raiden: (After Mortal Kombat's Raiden)

Heartgold team: (These were all named after characters from Phi Brain, Puzzle of God.)
1. Meganium: Da-Vinci
2. Forretress: Edison
3. Crobat: Gaileio
4. Magmortar: Einstein

Espeon - Abraxas
Infernape - Pyrois
Sawsbuck - Phlegon
Vaporeon - Eous

Named after the Greek god Helios and his horses. I thought it was fitting for a sun team.

I also named my Black/White 2 team HOLLY WOOD, DOMINO, EVAGRIA, SENTRY, VIC and SIRIUS after characters in Coheed and Cambria's "The Afterman".

I am disappointed by the lack of Smugleaf. Best nickname ever. I don't remember who it is but the guy with the smugleaf portal gun has the coolest profile picture ever.

Ummm, sometimes pet names for the dogs and cats like Wolfie. The rest I think are typically portmanteaus or puns I can't remember and/or are bad.
