So after a couple weeks of though, I've finally decided on my favorite Pokemon. Now before I share mine, I wish to clarify a little. This is in off-topic becuase you can base your favorite on as many or as few sources as you want. The anime, manga, games, and trading cards are all options and any others I'm not aware of.

Alright, so my all time favorite Pokemon came down to two. Lugia and Swampert. It took me a long time to decide the winner here. Swampert is just awesome, great movepool, only one weakness, amazing design, and a move that used to be unique to him. Lugia has a pretty massive movepool, an awesome design, and he is a legendary. Swmapert had an advantage at first, his first form was my first Pokemon ever and he was my first fully evolved Pokemon. I was almost about to pick him, when I remembered Pokemon 2000. A quick YouTube search later and I found these two factors.

His cry in the anime is fucking awesome. He sounds like some eagle mixed in with a whale. That's just sick. Then he has the best song present in the Pokemon series as his theme. After this, I picked Lugia instantly. So this majestic whale eagle is my favorite Pokemon.

Some notable mentions: Gallade, Rayquaza, Haxorus, Golurk, and Blastoise.

When faced with such a difficult question, I must turn to the tomato of perpetual agony for guidance:

Well, there we have it. It is legit. It has a sweet camouflage scheme and a cabbage or something on its back. Its roar is cool and it was there from the beginning. It was the best choice, the only choice. It liked Pokémon before Pokémon was famous. Down with the new hipsters! Down with change!

Pinsir. It started out as an in-joke between me and a friend, and then I started using it competitively as a surprise lead that worked really well, and then ... he became my favorite, I guess. Pinsir's pretty awesome.

Shout out to those of you who remember when my avatar here used to be Pinsir.

Tentacruel or Muk. Both are wicked awesome, but I think I'd have to go with Tentacruel. Nothing beats that freakish, glowing, hook-billed tentacled sea monster for BA-factor.

EDIT: Abra is also one of my absolute favorites. Just great looks and backstory. One day I'm going to bring a lvl 100 Abra to some Pokemon tournament and just use Teleport.

Weezing is the correct answer. Also acceptable would be Gengar, Noctowl, Mewtwo, Golem, and a handful of others.

I'm not a fan of many of the legendaries post-Gen 1, like Lugia or the legendary dogs. There are so many legendaries now, and a great number of them look like vague animal shapes with smaller geometric shapes glued onto them. Lugia is one such. That dog with a starfish on his face is another.

Gotta be that Psyduck. He's so adorable.

Also, anyone who's good on my competitive teams (Jirachi, Celebi, Tyranitar, etc.)

Hmmmmm

I guess mine would be an extremely close tie between Blaziken and Croagunk

Blaziken because I have nostalgia goggles the size of Jupiter

And Croagunk because of his design, unique typing and the Croagunk in the show that gave hilarious physical abuse to Brock

If I'm allowed to pick a Mega Evolution as my favorite, then my choice would be Mega Charizard X for the following reasons:
- It's Fire/Dragon. What basic Charizard should have been FROM THE BEGINNING. None of this Fire/Flying crap.
- It's black, but with blue and white flames coming out of its mouth.
- Mewtwo was, and probably still is, one of the most powerful pokemon. Mega Charizard X gave no fucks and punched him right in the gut.
- It doesn't have levitate, but can still participate in air battles.

Butterfree early on butterfree is a godsend. It knows a lot of status altering moves (sleep powder) and some powerful psychic moves.

Theres countless times when my plan has been *butterfree used sleep powder*, *[insert other pokemon] used [insert relevant powerful attack]

Once I got a kadabra and haunter which both no hypnosis and a lapras that nows sing. It became pretty useless but early on it was amazing

Hmm, that's a tough one. If I had to pick I'd probably say it's a toss up between Blaziken and Lucario:

Guess I just like the badass, bipedal fighting types.

Also shoutout to Gen2. It's my favourite overall Generation.

Not to mention that adorable Pikachu avatar.

OP: I'm not sure if I have an outright favourite but I'm a sucker for cute Pokemon, especially when they're in onesies of their evolutions.

I was always disappointed that you couldn't keep Pokemon in their first, adorable stage without compromising their move-set and stats but that would be having my cake and eating it, I suppose. When I was a kid, my favourite was Vaporeon and I just loved water-types in general, now I'm not so sure, I can't single one Pokemon out.
I love the aesthetics of most of the Eeveelutions

For ingame it would be Garchomp. It is just OP.

For apperance only, it would either be Aron or Eevee, they are just so cute looking!

Blaziken all the way, man! Hoenn was my first Pokemon experience, on one of those '100 Games in One' cartriges on holiday in Spain, and I had no idea WTF Pokemon was. Even though Mudkip was my first ever starter, that game got corrupted and I never finished it. I later got Emerald brand new, and this time went with Blaziken. Blaziken was the first starter I ever finished the game with and I always thought he was amazing. Looks cool, has decent stats, and gets a sick ability in Gen V.

You cannot imagine my glee at seeing him get Mega'd in Gen 6!

Though for competetive, my favorites are also Scizor, Greninja, Tyranitar, Excadrill and Salamence

Probably because it's fresh in my mind from Pokemon Y and being a couple with Kirby in Brawl in the Family:

Where's your big bad pseudo-legendary dragons now?! Oh right! ASLEEP! *Spams Fairy moves*

Also my brother's favourite back in gen 1, and I'm pretty good with her in Smash Bros.

I love me some Absol. Coolest looking pokemon around, and its mega evolution only makes it better. My 3DS actually has a Mega Absol decal on the front.
It's a shame it sucks competitively though. Of the pokemon I use regularly it would have to be Greninja.

My favourite would be Pangoro. It's THAT badass. And plus, the fact that it's a creature who WILL hunt you down if you bully ANYONE is pretty cool in my opinion.

I've got three actually.

Charizard

The first fully evolved starter that I ever got in any Pokemon game is also the reason why I got hooked to Pokemon in the first place. On top of that, it is also my favorite Fire-type of all time. This is one hell of a power house, especially now that it can do this:

Lugia

This is my absolutely favorite Legendary of all and my favorite Gen 2 Pokemon of all time. This guy is very useful and versatile in both his move set and exploration, I honestly couldn't say no to buying SoulSilver and going on that amazing journey again with Lugia.

Mew

Mew hasn't been a favorite of mine for very long and for good reason: I've newer got to use Mew because he's impossible to get within a game (without hacking tools, of course). On a new playthrough on my old Red version, I decided to try the in-game glitch that allowed you to encounter Mew in order to catch him. It worked perfectly and I final caught a Mew of my very own. And this little guy is awesome! I'm so glad I played my Red version over because I would have never come to adore this cute, yet very powerful, little feline.

Abra was always my favorite Pokemon. I decided around the time I was working on my Pokemon sticker album, before watching the show or playing the games. I liked his design, his element, the teleportation powers and pretty much everything about it. His evolutionary line would become my go-to guys for psychic Pokemon, and always kept an Abra/Kadabra on me.
