Your favorite Samurai Jack Episodes?

In still waitinng for the hopefully revealed Samurai Jack Season 5 on Adult Swim, I like to just have a chat about how awesome this show is to this day. To me this was Cartoon Network's Avatar the Last Airbender.

Beautiful Athompshere, intense badass action, and a world that feels like a box of chocolates.

So out of all the episodes so far these are my favorites by season.

SEASON 1:
The 3 Part Beginning (Best of the Season)

Tale of X9 (Tied with The Princess and the Bounty Hunters for best of the Season)
Young Jack in Africa

Seriously I just cannot wait to see what Season 5 Finale would offer us if they are worthy. Please don't fuck it up Genndy. Because that image makes me want to see that episode of Jack looking like this:

Well, it was a silly filler episode, but the one where Aku kidnaps the children to push some anti-Jack propaganda on them I really like. Mostly cause


Also basically any episode with the Scottish guy with the gun leg. (Its been awhile since Ive watched the show)

No offense but even back than I found Aku being played for laughs really takes away his intimidation factor, I mean he's supposed to be the BIG EVIL DIABOLICAL BAD GUY like how we saw him from the beginning:


Yet he is mostly treated like this:

OT- I don't know why but the episode Samuari Vs Samurai is a strange favourite of my (when Jack encounter that wannabe samurai). I mean seriously, the show has excellent combat, setting and scene and yet I choose that one.

I guess I just liked the clear contract between Jack being the traditional samurai and its teaching against that future punk samurai who all talks and no pull to his sword. That scene when he barg in acting his "samurai" way until Jack appear and sliced up those robotd with the tradtional music playing really stood up for me.

I am just asking for a more threatening Aku because could easily defeat Aku from all the encounters they had.

I am just asking for Jack and Aku to be more like Superman vs Darkseid, not Batman vs Joker.

I just love the idea of seeing something from the perspective of someone who's trying to stop Jack, and for sympathetic reasons...you know he's doomed. He puts up a better fight than 99% of Jack's enemies ever did, but at the end of the day he's, at best, an Elite Mook trying to take out the main character. The way the show goes out of his way to humanize him, and Jack's hesitation at the very end, hinting that he knows he didn't just kill another mindless murder bot, really just shows how good Samurai Jack could be.

Also his design kicks ass.

"Jack Learns to Jump Good", Episode 14. Some of the best music in the entire series, great animation, and a fun plot. Bonus points for the final scene being both hilarious and awesome.

"Samurai fool! Your efforts are in vain again. This gateway to the past is once more beyond your-"

Second place is "Samurai vs. Ninja", Episode 40. The last fight framed in stark light and darkness, transitioning seamlessly between the two, and some excellent combat. Third place is "Jack and the Lava Monster," Episode 10, for having a truly tragic opponent for Jack and a heart-touching ending.

Since i haven't watched the series since I was a wee lad, I'll go with the one I can remember most. It was the one where he lost his sandles and had to keep going through fights with different sucky shoes. My favorite was the basketball shoes that worked perfectly, except he got laughed at because he had the laces tied, so he untied them to be cool, and ended up tripping on them and losing the fight

been so long since I watched it but I remember a couple of friends came over and I just had to show em this super cool cartoon I had found and recorded a few weeks prior taking up precious space on one of my VCR tapes.
Episode was about a bunch of bad ass assassins waiting to ambush jack and the whole episode involved them discussing how they were gonna absolutely murder him followed by him kicking their asses in seconds and walking away like it aint noting but a thang.

For me there is only one episode of that show. Jack vs the Lava Monster.

That episode brings me to awesome tears every time I watch it. I fucking LOVE the story of that one, and how they flip things in that Jack isn't even really the hero of that episode. You think it's a typical episode when it starts, but then when the true story is revealed, it cranks up to such an awesome level. I just, gah, fucking love that ep.
