The opening song from Nightmare Before Christmas is excellent.

Oh, I adore that movie. If you liked that movie as much as I did, you should really watch Corpse Bride. Trust me on this one.

Damn good song, though I prefer Marilyn Manson's version:

Panic! At the Disco did their own version too.

Really, what´s wrong with it then? (In your opinion of course)
I haven't seen it in a long time but I remember that the handheld camera view that the movie was was mostly showed in didn't do it justice. Plus the monsters weren't even that scary (when you did get to see them, which wasn't very much) and the ending just wan't any good. Trust me when I say War of the Worlds was still better.

Perhaps you should watch it for yourself and make your own decision.

Maybe(again, I have not seen it)that was the point. Maybe they used the handheld camera thingie so that you only see glimpses of the monsters, so that they are scarier. Take for example the new Predator movie (Predators). In the first half of the movie, you barely see them, and even though you know what they are, they are a lot cooler when you can´t see them.

Just for something you've never heard before (based on the number of vids and viewson this one):

The ending credits music from the 2003 movie "Young Adam"
I only turned on the TV on the last 10 minutes and caught this song and immediately googled the lyrics.

The Outsider by A Perfect Circle, from Resident Evil: Afterlife.
We Hate You Please Die by Crash and the Boys, from Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World.
Fun fact, that was actually supposed to be Last Song Kills Audience!

OT: Threashold by Sex Bob-Omb from the same movie!

But that's the thing, the view from handheld just wasn't as successful as it should've/could've been. And the whole 'barely catch a glimpse' did work well with Paranormal Activity because of how it was executed; the one minute it's there and the next minute it's not physiological horror worked cause they were just hints and glimpses. In Cloverfield, the whole city is crumbling and hordes of people are running for their lives and you can't be entirely sure what is there let alone what isn't case the cameraman is too busy pissing himself.

That sounds like a good point. I guess I´ll just have to watch it and see for myself. Thanks for the advice.

I don't think it was all bad. I do recall a scene where one of the characters became infected and began to change and tear others apart and all you could see was their silhouettes behind a sheet and it was pretty damn freaky. Apart from that, nothing really stood out enough for me to remember it.

What do you mean, not a great film? It's one of my favourites of the 90s era of Disney genius.

Don't get me wrong, I liked it. I think just a lot of small things prevented it from greatness for me. Like the gargoyles... I barely remember to be honest, I haven't seen it in like 5 years.

Most epic (opening) scene ever.
No one can dislike this.
You know why.
The sound of death.

Hunchback is one of my favorite disney films (mabye thats the nostalga speaking) and I persoanlly think its underated

I men yes its quite dark...and uhh yeah other stuff, but I think its one of disneys best

I mean if anything I honestly think its THE BEST opening seaquence of any disney film...you know with the snow and the light on the cathedrall..amazing

you I think the problem was as you said with the gargoyles they still wanted it to apeal to children...but its still a little dark, so its awkwardly in between, also because audiences just wouldnt accpeted a mature animated film made by DISNEY of all people

youd never get somthing as edgy as that from disney again...:( which is kinda sad
