Devin Townsend, Geoff Tate and Rob Halford most probably have the best range in metal. But Chuck Schuldiner had such a unique voice with awesome range that defined a genre, so yeah Evil Chuck it is!
He's a very polarising singer - many can't stand him - but I for one love him. The amount of emotion he puts into every syllable makes it sound like he really, really means it.
I've heard a few of his songs, and yeah, he has got a nice voice. Sounds more "polite" than Bellamy's though - I doubt he could reach the latter's level of terrifying psychosis [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlAPkNpS-O8].
Paul Rodgers -- Free, Bad Company (Queen sort of...??? ) - Soulfull, yet full on Rock Power - soooo much more than All right Now.. ;0) ) check out Creepin, Easy on my Soul or The Stealer.

Chris Isaak - smooth and cool to die for.
Chris Cornell -
Ronnie James DIO -- Legend
Robert Plant -- Bigger Legend
Bon Scott -- Spirit of DC -- and for the accent on Big Balls
Tori Amos
Julie Kiss (To Mera)
Marvin Gaye
Glenn Danzig, Eerie Von, Johnny Cash, Tom Waits and Kurt Cobain are practically in a five way tie. For ease of singing along with, Eerie Von's solo albums and Johnny Cash's stuff are probably sharing the number one slot.
Joe Duplantier [Gojira]
Maynard James Keenan [TOOL]
Randy Blythe [Lamb Of God]
Mikael Akerfeldt [Opeth]
Matt Bellamy [MUSE]
Corey Taylor [Slipknot + Stone Sour]
And all of Mastodon.

I have to say either Roy Khan, Serj Tankian, or Ivan Moody.
Roy just has some bloody godly pipes. Sings the only song to have ever made me cry
Freaking beautiful. It makes me so sad that he left Kamelot.
I love Serj's voice for the sheer variety he can pull off. It helps that he is the vocalist for my favorite band, System of a Down. The man can do some weeeeeeeeird things with his voice as well.
Ivan packs a surprising amount of emotion into his vocals. He can do angry heavy metal fantastically, but when he wants to tone it down he can.
He can go from to on the same album. Takes some skill if you ask me.
Honestly, there are a TON of amazing vocalists out there and I could make this into a giant wall-o-text. It was quite difficult to nail down just 3 of my favorites.
Ones that were cut from the list:
Corey Taylor (Slipknot & Stone Sour)
Jon Davis (KoRn)
Tarja Turunen (Nighwish)
Jerry Cantrell and Layne Stanly (Alice in Chains)
Phil Anselmo (Pantera & Down)
Benjamin Burnley (Breaking Benjamin)
David Draiman (Disturbed)
Jim Morrison (The Doors)
Til Linderman (Rammstein)
I'm going to stop it here, I could go on and on, but I want to do other things at the moment.
This man is my idol.
He used to be an English teacher (which I am).
He is a lyrical genius, writing compelling and thought-provoking lyrics to a stupidly jaw-dropping degree of awesomeness.
His screaming and singing are both equally beautiful.
And he is incredibly witty and hilarious.
This man has the answer. Keith Buckley is fucking amazing.
Also, I always used to be quite sceptical of Slipknot, but Corey Taylor is actually really damned good. He's got a great range if you listen through a lot of Stone Sour and Slipknot stuff, he can even rap pretty well. He's one of the very few vocalists I've ever heard convincingly sound like he's having a mental breakdown in the recording.
And quickly:
Randy Blythe (Lamb of God)
Howard Jones (Killswitch Engage, and some other stuff that I'm not familiar with and cannot for the life of me remember what it is)
Jesse Leech (Killswitch Engage (His clean voice isn't as good as Howard's though))
Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge, Slash)
Cedric Bixler-Zavala (The Mars Volta, At The Drive-In)
As lyricists, but not really singers:
Tomas Kalnoky (Gimp, Catch 22, Streetlight Manifesto, Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, Toh Kay)
Sycamore Smith
Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails)
Fat Mike (NOFX)

Regarding what you said about Corey Taylor, have you heard some of KoRn's stuff? There are a few songs where Jon just breaks down in the middle of them. The album recording of Daddy actually has him breaking down in tears while the rest of the band just awkwardly plays on. Honestly, that first album has a few fantastic moments of Jon just venting all this emotion. It's pretty damn impressive in my opinion.
Uff, lots. One of my favorites is Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth from Overkill though. Awesome, slightly raspy voice. In terms of raw power Matthew Barlow takes the cake.
Russel Allen
Geoff Tate
Devin Townsend
Daroh Sudderth
Kristoffer Rygg
Joanna Newsom
Matt Barlow
John Kevil
Kenn Nardi Eric Adams
Scott "Wino" Weinrich
Joel Grind
Mike Scalzi
Mike Baker
John Oliva
"Big Boss" Jirí Walter
Paul McKenzie
Joel Dubay
Dani Filth- Cradle of Filth
Freddie Mercury- Queen
David Draiman- Disturbed
Tarja Turunen- Nightwish
Voltaire
Robert Plant- Led Zeppelin
Ozzy Osbourne- Black Sabbath
"Weird Al" Yankovic Sarah Brightman
Tim Curry in Rocky Horror Picture Show (that's right he can sing)

Oh, I have, it's pretty incredible. I never really thought he had the same range as Corey does though, the guy can sing pretty much anything thrown at him.

I'm very pleased to see almost everyone I was going to name has been named at least once already. I'll list anyway.
Amy Lee (Evanescence)
Corey Taylor (Stone Sour/Slipknot)
Those are really my top two. If they ever teamed up for anything, I might just die of musical bliss. Honourable mentions include:
Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch) [Ivan is also an incredibly classy guy on stage]
J. Loren (Hurt)
Lzzy Hale (Halestorm) [Not the greatest technical voice, but it has a pleasant raw tone]
Sharon Den Adel (Within Temptation)
Also two guys who I don't particularly like listening to, but whose talent need mentioning:
M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold)
Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden)
Try 'Overture' or 'Micro Cuts' then? Those two are vocally incredible.
I get that the sheer highness of Matt's voice probably puts plenty of people off.
