I think it's more likely that all or part of the "O" was obscured or had come off in the scene to which you refer...the box was supposed to be quite old after all! However "Ouroboros" is the correct spelling and also the title of the episode in question. Not trying to be smarmy, just trying to help.

It means to have your genitalia removed, and was commonly practiced by churches so that the child would keep that higher-pitched voice that they wanted in the choir throughout their life, so that they wouldn't have to train another one.

Besides that, Lug-Nut. Simple, easy to wrap your tongue around, and is the name of several brutish assistants to evil men throughout literature, games, and cinema.

But Lister says that it said on his box Our Rob or Ross, thinking that they were potential names for him. Why would he think that unless it was spelt that way? It was also the name of the episode, and it is spelt that way.
