Is Sins of a Solar Empire an RTS? Well, if it is...
Having your entire fleet 8 systems away wailing on one enemy fleet when all of a sudden you are alerted to a different and bigger enemy fleet warping in on the other side of the system.
You just hope that you can get there before no more than 3 of your planets are razed.

When your playing the Allies and a King Tiger comes in on Company of Heroes.

That is all.
Another company of heroes one: when playing the St. Fromond mission in the campaign, have 5 minutes left of having to defend the town and it gets capped. Mission over, start again.

Had one earlier tonight playing DoW2 Retribution. I heard a Baneblade tank rolling around somewhere and sure enough, the guy had one rolling right towards my base.

I managed to intercept with my army and baneblade, but I barely managed to win, and was surprised I did because my baneblade had half the health his did.
I thought Retribution didn't come out until March 1st. Or are you testing?

For me it's in StarCraft 1 when I played multiplayer and I was like let's get me some resources to get units and after 5 minutes I had a very pitiful force but I was like I'll get more it's just the beggining after all, and suddenly those protoss turret things were practically in my base that is when I said "Holy shit! how did he do that?" and then lost.

The beta is out for anyone who pre-ordered it.

Haha this definitely. And Sins of a Solar Empire, my whole fleet is engaged elsewhere and a massive pirate raid is launched in the rear...awful feeling of dread, all that hard work screwed over by bloody pirates.

This is why anyone that I play Sins with, turns off pirates. Already makes it a lot more frustrating with everyone backstabbing each other every few seconds or so.

OT: It was a ventrilo 8-player Sins game, no set teams with alliances allowed and all that stuff, where we had 3 guys that didn't know what they were doing and 2 extremely good players, rest of the players were average (me included). Anyways, about an hour and a half in, almost everything was taken by one player or another and it was basically a deadlock. I was very behind due to an early rush and lost a lot of my planets because a forced tech switch (And they say you can't rush in Sins), and was barely rebuilding, when suddenly, we got the message that a superweapon was being made at several planets. What had happened was one of the players that was practically carrying the team had enough resources to build Novalith cannons at around 6 of his planets. Everyone was going nuts over this and teamed up together to try and destroy him in time. Sadly, this failed because the guy with the superweapons had a massive fleet that just decimated everyone.

Definitely the whole SC2 Protoss "Last Stand" mission. Just a total overkill.
Awesome!

A running gag between me and my friends in yelling "They got void(ray)s!" and jokingly losing it.

This occurred in a team game with said friends where there was a) no scouting allowed, and b) everyone has a maxed out force, with one huge ass battle, where my opponents built upwards of 60 void rays each (It was 2v2), to which I amusing proceeded to go nuts over the fact our units got smashed.

No, it's wasn't a serious game. It was still the biggest "Oh shit!" moment I've had in an RTS, which just happened to be hilarious at the time.

Anyone hear choppers? Coming from my tank column that has somehow outrun its anti-air.
Endwar, right? I'm more of an APC/heli/arty player. Catching an enemy APC convoy being covered by tanks is just about the worst scenario I've ever been in. Throw in an engineer team or two in cover and I'll just toss arty at it until it goes away.

Yeeeeaahhhh. That game moves a bit too slow for my tastes.

Mine would in in the Red Alert 3 beta when my opponent sent those Tesla boat things to attack some my Construction Yard that was deployed in the water. I saw him coming and packed up and moved it to land just as the boats go there. Thinking I was safe once the MCV got to the middle of my base on land I redeployed only to see those boats GROW FUCKING LEGS and come after me. I lost that match horribly, very very horribly.

Yes I forgot that Red Alert 3 was going to have a bunch of amphibious units, sue me.
