i remember watching my brothers play against each other in Starcraft.
this was HILARIOUS
my brother spent all his supply on Seige Tanks and Marines and all the rest of his resources into bunkers for said marines.
one thing he forgot?
detectors.
my other brother exploited this to death.
first he scouted it out with a few waves of Zealots.
then when he realized that there were no detectors he raped my other brother with dark templar.
hilarity and brother vs. brother violence promptly ensued

In one game of Halo Wars against a friend, I had been slowly building my strength and thought to have a respectably sized army. Then suddenly my whole minimap in the area by my base lights up in pink.
And then I saw it.
Wave after wave after wave of suicide grunts marched their way towards my base. I tried to kill as many as I could, and formed a defensive line in front of my base, but that simply saved him the trouble of looking for my units.
Then, as he laughed, he selected all the remaining grunts, waiting patiently next to my base, and ordered them to explode.
It. Was. Horrendous.
And then I saw it.

How about when I suddenly see my base being attacked by DTs while my 4 gate army is unable to go around a bunch of cannons or really anytime when you need detection but don't have it. That and accidentally running marines on the low ground by a wall to get blasted away by siege tanks.
Most recently, I was replaying Empire: Total War, and controlled perhaps a third of Europe when Sweden decided it might be fun to go to war with me, so I was spread way too thin trying to fight them off. Eventually a half dozen of my regions rebelled against me, and my empire fell to pieces. Oh, how fun that was...
Probably the biggest "Awww Shit" moment for me was in Starcraft though. I was marching my terran army through a choke point when zerg tunneled out of the ground either side of me and beat the crap out of my army. One of my friends came to help, and we eventually beat the zerg off - at the cost of nearly my entire fighting force- but in the moment when the very first zergling stuck its head out, I nearly screamed.

Just starting a game of Starcraft 2, my buddy sent over a bunch of probes and built Assimilators on my Vespene geysers. God damn that can get annoying. That or accidentally sending an infantry squad into territory that your enemy has littered with snipers on Company of Heroes.
Playing Dawn of War: Soulstorm with my buddy (multi-player) in a one on one match. We're both playing Tau. We reach a stalemate that continues for about 20 minutes. Then he hits me with 15 invisible units (Stealthsuits), kills all my detectors, and is about to wipe me out. He missed a builder unit, tho, and i was able to escape, build a new base, and completely destroy his base before he finished off my first. He thought he had to eliminate every last building i had. Best win EVER.
I was playing AoE 3, and after steamrolling the enemy base, the ai asked to surrender. I was feeling a bit genocidal, so I refused. With a psychotic twinkle in eye I set out looking for the final enemy units to secure complete and utter victory. But after a few minutes of searching I couldn't find a thing. With a slightly perplexed "The fuck?" I slowly returned to my base only to get owned by a huge army I had somehow missed.
Could also be World in Conflict (not sure how many people still play online). I've had that happen to be a lot in WiC.dragonhunter21 said:
