Discussion value?

OT: Thompson. Totally. You know that picture where Churchill is holding one? That's from the initial testing for WWII, where a load of the SMGs were taken to Northern England to hunt Blood Wolves.

I'll be the dirty bastard American and say the M1 Garand. Boom-boom-TING! =D

I really want to get my hands on one... On the plus side, if my friend ever gets DOWN here, we're going to rent the Thompson at the local range. =D

The Hispano 20mm cannon.

All the cool aircraft of WW2 had them fitted in one guise or another ( HS.404, Mk.I, Mk.II, Mk.V, M1, M2, M3, M24) and when you consider all the roles those aircraft using the Hispano 20mm performed, it's probably one of the most important yet overlooked guns of the entire war.

I quite like the Springfield sniper rifle (Probably not even the proper). Not quite sure about it's practicality but I like it.

I've heard that the M1 Garand was vital in the American success and was an amazing rifle. So I guess that. Although I do like that Russian sub machine gun with the big barrel.

Some german single-handedly killed hundreds of American troops using this weapon on D-Day.

Dead tie between the Tommy Gun

...and the Browning Automatic Rifle or BAR

These weapons were a big part of the arsenal of overwhelming firepower that helped the U.S. carry on the fight in two different theaters and come out on top.

MP43, played a key part in galvanising the creation of the AK47, was widely liked by the German forces who viewed as the best way to fight on the Eastern front...and all under the nose of Hitler who didn't want to bother designing an assault rifle.

Any 'one-shot' calibre weapon.

- Mosin-Nagant
- M1 Garand
- The German version [ Forgot name ]

It's satisfying to reload after each shot again and again, love those weapons!
The M1 Garand was semi-automatic so I don't think you would need to reload after every shot. The German gun you're thinking of is presumably the Mauser Karabiner 98k....oh, and don't forget the Lee Enfield rifles.

SMLE No.4

What's not to love about it?! D=
(Anyone who says "it's bolt action, *sneeeeer*" will be SHOT BY ZE SS! Bolt action rifles are classy!)

The Sturmgewehr 44. The worlds first assault rifle. That would be my favorite.
The world's first assault rifle was the Federov Avtomat. It feel into a similar pitfall to the StG.44 (which had to pretend to be a machine pistol to enter trails for the Wehrmacht), because most generals at the time didn't recognise the significance of such a rifle, so was only issued as a light machine gun.

The amount of people I killed with this in Medal of Honour alone would probably in the high triple digits.

Quickly followed by the MP44.

I get most of the specs from the complete world encyclopedia of Guns.
