I don't usually like beer, but the one that I've found that I do like is a local Frederick beer called Flying Dog. It's really good, and they use Ralph Steadman art on the bottles, which is cool. Raging ***** is my favorite, I think.

Anything from Ballast Point, namely the Yellowtail, Tonguebuckler or Double Dorado.
If I'm feeling a bit 'dandy', then their 3-sheets Barley Wine.

Bonus points to the Arrogant Bastad guy, though.

I don't always drink beer. But when I do, I prefer Dos Equies.

Or as it's known in English Two X's

Other beer's taste kind of like dirt to me.

Well my favorite beer used to be Blandford Fly, which was a rather dry ginger beer with a good heat to it. The name changed to Blandford Flyer however and I'm sure the taste changed as well. Now it's very sweet, more like a Crabbies, than what it used to be and it's no longer my favorite beer. I'm not sure what is really.

I don't think I have a favorite as I have only liked one of the beers I tried and that was Innis and Gunn I think. I am personally more of a Whiskey and Bourbon man myself.

This is my "Go to" Beer from one of our local microbreweries...

However they also make an utterly amazing seasonal...

In terms of international tastes... I love Erdinger Dunkel

and a delicious Scottish Beer from a whiskey distillery which my favorite beer store sadly no longer carries...

Samuel Smith Imperial Stout, definitely the Emperor of beers...

And lastly a "special beer" that you can only get at one bar in the world, this little joint here...

It's a house brew called Goldspur that tastes like a smooth Pear Wine or a Beery Cider but will get you f**ked up beyond belief because it's got 12% alcohol, I've never seen anyone successfully down more than 6 of these and MOST people can only handle 2 or 3.

I worship the ground that Guinness is spilt on but for my other loved beers are anything Australian really. We brew some good beer and some rather drinkable horrible ones.

And I'm a bit a fan of Reschs Pilsner

SNOB!
Sorry couldn't resist.

Boags isn't really my type of beer only because it goes flat. (Which most could say I'm not drinking it quick enough)
Still drinkable though.

I prefer to drink Budweiser as my standard drink. I just think it is awesome, but I'm not too preferential.
I also like Corona, MGD, Kokanee, Keystone. Anything really
(Side note, I'm drunk from Budweiser right now)

Don't get me started. My favourite beers would be a rather long list of New Zealand craft beers.

I have three brewpubs I like to go to. Brewery Britomart [http://www.thebrewerybritomart.co.nz/] which is in downtown Auckland; Galbraiths's Alehouse [http://www.alehouse.co.nz/] which is just outside the central city and near my work; finally my favourite and local pub, the amazing Deep Creek Brewery [http://www.dcbrewing.co.nz/]. I love going here and it is just down the road from where I live.

Now for some of my favourite beers from around New Zealand.

Hop Zombie from Epic Beer:

This amazeballs beer is at a big 8.5% ABV and has an insane amount of hops crammed in. Huge flavour.

Czar Imperial Russian Stout by Wigram Brewing:

All imperial stout fans know how they are all awesome but this one is my favourite.

Tall Poppy by 8wired Brewing Co:

This is an India red ale. Essentially a nice malty red ale that is hoppy like an IPA.

I recently got to try some imported beer from the US. Most notably Ballast Point IPA and a Rogue Ales Yellow Snow IPA. Delicious beers. I would like to try some more American beers and of recent times they have been readily available but they do cost a bit more that local beer which is just as good as the imports in my experience so far.

Any other Kiwi beer fans here?

My delicious homebrew IPA is going down very nicely, thank you.

A cheeky 6.9% alcohol content too.

Seriously, it's so incredibly easy to brew your own beer I'd recommend everyone gives it a crack. And it's immediately a great beer as you made it, of course ! :)

*steps down from soapbox - picks up beer glass*

Pauwel Kwak.
Unfortunately, it costs a fortune and isn't all that common. Second place is "Dog's Bollocks", a guest ale which only ever seems to appear around Christmas. In the meantime, it's Guinness all the way.

The kind that doesn't taste like beer.
I just can't understand why people actually like beer. It tastes like shit.
It's an acquired taste. You basically have to make yourself drink it at first, and familiarize yourself to the flavour before you can enjoy it. If it weren't for the culture and peer pressure around it, I don't think anyone would give beer a chance - it can take a long time to learn to like it. Same goes for espresso, blue stilton and tea eggs (all of which I've taught myself like).
