I like the style of the Half-Life 2 and the CoD 4 cut scenes where you are in constant control of the character. As far as graphics and styling I'll give that to Squire-Enix.

What I liked about the assasins creed is similar to the lost oddysey style. Flashbacks/Genetic Memory would is an awesome way to tell a story.

I say get rid of stories, they are, for the most part unnecessary. Why was I trying to destroy all of those asteroids? I don't know, but the men of the S.S. Triangle gave their lives for the valiant effort. Why was Pac-Man trying to eat pellets while being chases by ghosts?

If you need story keep it simple. Someone (Princess, Girlfriend, President) has been kidnapped by someone (Giant Turtle Monster, Thugs, Ninjas) and you must save them. Simple plot and it makes sense. Or just leave in ambiguous, someone is trying to take over the world. How? It doesn't matter, just stop them.

Too much story interrupts the entire point of buying a game: playing it. Death to cut scenes in the middle of a game! A short one in the beginning and end is all we need.
