Okay list time
My main Tekken team, I love my girls. Asuka's been my main for a long time and I have a thing for spunky tomboys and I love Lili's look and fighting style.
I also love King he's awesome with his jaguar mask and his awesome throws.
I love Juri's design, she really looks like an evil badass and I like Sakura again due to me having a thing for spunky tomboys.
Ken flowchart, that is all.

I liked playing as Tao from BlazBlue, even though I suck as her, Link was my favorite Soul Calibur 2 character, and Chie is my favorite Persona 4 Arena character.

I've never played fighting games (other than Smash Bros, but Brawl doesn't really count) since I'm pretty terrible at them, but I've always had a special spot in my heart for this guy.

I mean, seriously? He's made Turkish oil wrestling look cool! And he's got like a million kids! And the hottest wife ever!

One of the most unique grapplers in fighting games, period. Capcom did a great job with his character.

FG characters? Yeah I have a few:

From Street Fighter series:
English gentleman. Boxer. Has curly mustache. Enjoyable to play as.

Cheerful warrior princess from Africa, that know capoeira. What not to love?

Who doesn't like this guy? Okay, some people don't, but no one hates him, thats for sure.

King of Fighters series:
ARE YOU OKAAAY?!!! Seriously though, he is really easy to use character with nice personality.

My favorite wrestler girl. Looks great too.

My favorite boxer girl. Looks great too.

From Blazblue:
Take Zangief, give him comboes, add a bit of Magneto's powers. Volia! Plus, he is a really nice guy

Enjoyable to play as. Plus, she is a really friendly, cheerful, hyperactive squirrel girl. If only she wore less revealing clothes...

From Guilty Gear:
Vampire gentleman from distopian future. Wise and always willing to give advice, while staying out of actual events. Plus, story wise, he is freaking unkillable!

True patriot. He seeks no conflict, but will fight if necessary.

Speaking only for the Tekken series, im currently torn between Armor King and Bryan as the second character.
But by far my favourite would have to be
Lars Alexandersson, mostly because of his strong poke and step punishing potential.
and to quote Tekkenzaibatsu:
Pros: His hair, use it to your advantage...
Cons: His hair, use it at your own risk...
which is weird, cos its a toupee.

Vertigo from the Sega MegaDrive game Primal Rage.

A fighting game of dinosaurs and other giant monsters, I loved it so much.

I am not kidding when I say that this is the last fighting game I had myself (I have played other ones with friends who owned them).

That's a hard one, particularly because I almost never play the same characters in different games. The are, however, certain characters I like better than others;

They got me into fighting games in the first place. And say what you will about shotos, they're still the embodiment of "easy to use, hard to master, fun to pl- SHORYUKEN".

Come on, he's a dapper british gentleman who chucks roses at people!
Sadly he's really mediocre in SF4, but he's great in SF3 and quite decent in SFxT. Incidentally I only play the latter two.

Yes, Leo. For once the androgynous teenager is actually a girl. She also fits my playstyle really well, and is really fun to use. And her shoulder attacks are fucking manly.
And while we're speaking of manly women...

She will choke you and then punch you in the balls. She's also a girl wearing a gi. Which is awesome.

The first-lady of fighting has to make this list, obviously. Incidentally also the SFxT-character I think is the most fun to use.

She's awesome and amazing fun to use. And the fact that this badass got replaced by a whiny little piece of shit is my main gripe with Soul Calibur 5 :(

Hahah, I realized my entire list is encompassed by high/top tier 3rd Strike-characters and ladies. To compensate, I'll give Lars Alexandersson a mention for being the only scandinavian fighting game character I know of. He's also pretty darn fun to use, and one of the few flat-out rushdown characters I really enjoy playing.

I love it when a thread about fighting games starts out with an Ark System Works game.
I've played a lot of fighting games so I'm just gonna start listing.

Blazblue, Hazama: he's the king of 4chan all while wearing a cool jacket. instant win
Guilty Gear, Order Sol: the embodiment of the "cool factor" also he can do serious damage quickly if you know what your doing.
Street Fighter, Rufus: not only is he funny but somewhat relateable to the average American (only they wish they knew kung fu)
Tekken, Bryan Fury: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HYXE2Apjys I think this explains it.
Marvel vs. Capcom (if it counts), Vergil: I'm a huge fan of DMC3 so this was a given for me.

I'm quite fond of Lambda, as well. I think she actually makes a good all-range character, though midrange is usually the best.

I tend to make copious use of Spike Chaser for spacing. It wears down the opponent's guard primers, and avoiding it requires the opponent to jump, thus rendering them vulnerable to some basic sword combos. Mixing air throws into one's air combos really helps your damage output if you can catch your opponent off guard. All it really comes down to is "stay away and spam short, practical combos."

Also, I think she's cute, and Nu-13 was gleefully psychotic.

I would have to go with... Crap, I can't remember their names... from Killer Instinct. *Scrolls up*

Spinal - Back when I was a pussy younger and couldn't stand blood in any media, Spinal was one of the few characters I could watch getting pummeled to death by the computer since there was no blood. I also got pretty good with him.

Fulgore - A robot... My brain came up with the fact that he wasn't "bleeding" but oil or something was spilling out when he got beat (Also, wasn't his blood blue or green?) A cool design and I loved his "Fatality" where his head turns into a tank turret and he machine guns the enemy.

Cinder - The only character I was objectionably good at. I could pull off an 8-12 hit combo almost every attack. Though it didn't mean anything when and 8-hit combo was just spamming Forward, Forward punch, about 4 times.

That being said, I don't really like fighting games in general(Mainly cause I suck at... ALL OF THEM). They're fun to watch, especially 2 people who have very little experience with the game.

Talim from Soul Calibur.
Which is why it's such a kick to the balls that she's not in SC5, and even worse that her move list wasn't even translated onto a lamer character.

I can't wait for a type of Soul Calibur generations or what ever they'll call it, with all the best SC characters (So basically just SC 2 again)

For REAL SOVIET GIGANTIC TAGER DAMAGE 360+B. Erhm... Yeah Tager is on of my favorites grapplers. Maining him on Blazblue.
And I happy that I can actully do some combos and not just really on the 360 throws everywhere scrub tactic.

Also Tager's Astral is fucking awesome.

As for other fighting games characters I like:

Street Fighter: Akuma and Oni. Akuma is my favorite SF FG char because of his Shun Goku Satsu/Wrath of The Raging Demon/Instant Hell Murder super/ultra. I think it is just that awesome and so is Oni's Tenchi Sokaigen.

Tekken: Devil Jin. I just find him fun to play.

Soul Calibur: Ivy...Because of 2 reasons, Can you guess which ones? Trololololol Seriously though I just like her playstyle.

Arcana Heart: Petra, Because she is swedish. The real reason is the same as the above.
