I'm sure this has been done before, but I've searched through all 20 pages in search of a game music related topic and didn't find a single one. After having come across an escapist quiz about video game songs, I felt compelled to make this thread, so here's my question:

I'm sure we all have a game with a soundtrack or a specific song that was so incredibly good, it stuck with you for many years to come. I would love to hear a few opinions on what is good gaming music and what is not. Post your own songs that made you all emotional, laugh or drive you insane with its catchyness. Or songs that were so annoyingly bad that they ruined the scene they were used in. Add in an explanation if you feel like it, I'm leaving that part up to you guys.

Here are a few of mine that I will never be able to get out of my mind:

In my humble opinion, it's still the best video game song ever created. Period.
My god, I will never forget this scene ever again. The Boss truly is one of the best female gaming characters ever created.
To be expected, of course.
I love this game so much.
YEEEEES! YEEEEEES!
Would beat the shit out of Kratos every day of the week
I can't help but feel that the Forest Temple was a much scarier place than the one that was SUPPOSED to be scary (Shadow Temple), simply because of this amazing piece of music
I wonder how many people remember this one

There are a lot of others, obviously, but it would take days to write them all down. So yeah, I'm curious, what are your personal gaming music gems?

Oh yeah, how the hell did I forget IV? And yeah, CC does have an excellent soundtrack, but I'm still trying to forget the game.

Dynasty Warriors 4 -

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction -

Red Dead Redemption -

There's more but they're the three big ones.

Why are you trying to forget Chorno Cross? It was different but the story and game was still pretty good in my opinion.

It was a great game, but I disliked the fact it just took a dump over the prequel, which is my favorite game of all time. I thought it was a separate story, as in not a CT2, but a spin-off of sorts, but if I am to believe 99% of all gamers, it's a direct sequel. It's just a personal issue I have with the game, nothing big.

Timesplitters and Halo 3: ODST.

Timesplitters because the music is so varied and just damn amazing.

^Actually supposed to be "Metal Tileset", dude who uploaded just had a typo.

I could post more. A lot more. But I'll just direct you all to the Timesplitters Music Box [http://tsmusicbox.com/timesplitters1.html] which has all 3 games' soundtracks that you can download for free. And yes, it's all fine and legal.

And now for ODST. ODST's soundtrack made the game for me. Set the mood, the tone, the atmosphere... it was just amazing.

Again, I could post more. But I think I dumped enough videos here for now.

The Dark Spire.
Especially the battle and bid-boss music, as well as the late game background music. They have those awesome vocals, that make the soundtrack pretty unique.

Mafia II had great original music, as did LA Noire, there are some truly great video game soundtracks, best use of licensed music though, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and the ambient music in RD:R was stunning. Hans Zimmer did a fantastic job with Modern Warfare 2's music and was a unique choice.

Oh my garsh! That song is one my favorites from MGS as well. I actually got a bit emotional when it was played in MGS4.

Now then, here's some of my choices:

This one plays when you meet Angela for the first time.

This song stuck with me for some weird reason. As well as the entire soundtrack.

And I've said it before, this soundtrack is perfection. Hardly any video game ost has done that for me. Every single song is doused greatness. I will take that to my grave.

I barely remember the part where this was played. It's been a little while since I had last played.
But, damn if the song doesn't pull you in.

Also.......

It's played near the end and it really brings everything together, albeit, in a sad way.

Hell, I admit, this game made me tear up a bit. It's rare that a game these days makes me do that.

Even though I haven't beat this FF, or any for that matter, I love this song. Red's back story about his father really connected with me.

By the way, don't you think this song kinda fits with the end of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest?

I only put few, because, I'd be here all damn day if I put every single song I liked. XD
