Well I'm currently playing through Fallout 1 for the first time and then planning another play through of Fallout 3, and I tend to like to get into the right mood for my games via movies and TV shows where possible... but I don't know of a lot of films like Fallout.

I'm about to watch The Book of Eli (2010) and I remember quite liking The Road (2009). Is there anything else of a post-apocalyptic nature worth watching?

That might be a little bit too restrictive, so feel free to include any form of dystopia, not just a post-apocalypse type scenario.

A Hermit's Cave
Anything concerning the Imperial Guards/Inquisition in WH40K.

Seriously, though, the 40K franchise aside, it would probably be Ergo Proxy, for successfully fucking with my head for about six hours.

Book of Eli is a must. Such a awesome movie. I know there is a mine series live action spoof of fallout floating around on YouTube but don't have the name right now.

I really like the dystopian future of V for Vendetta.
I didn't really like the Book of Eli, mainly 'cause I thought the twist at the end was stupid. But that's just me.

Mad Max! The Trilogy follows Max and starts just before the apocalypse and then the next two are straight after!!

I actually liked that movie The Postman (1997). It had Kevin Costner in it but don't be quick to assume its just another Costner film. The post-apocalyptic world portrayed in the movie is actually quite interesting and reminded me a lot of the Capital Wasteland for some reason.

Mad Max has a certain fallout-ish feel to it. Certainly a good series worth watching.

Seconded. That was a terrible, nonsensical film. Being an atheist didn't help, but I'd like to think that even most Christians can't suspend their disbelief that far.

The Book of Eli was OK. It got a bit ridiculous but it had a Fallout-like look to it and was enjoyable enough for what I wanted it to be. Mila Kunis was a bonus.

I've never actually seen the Mad Max movies. Seems almost like I've let the country down there. I'll have to watch those next.

They were in Oregon though. Also, the bad guy general in that is the commander from that show Falling Skies.

I recommend either of the last two Resident Evil movie. They are terrible pieces of work and cinema as a whole is brought down by them alone, but they get the post apocalyptic feel down. Also, any of the "of the Dead" series. Dawn and Day are pretty good for that kind of mood setting. Even the remakes (I think the remake Dawn of the Dead is the best zombie film ever made) get it right.

For dystopian, Sucker Punch and the Matrix trilogy are pretty good. A Scanner Darkly is also pretty decent. On a more lighthearted note, A Series of Unfortunate Events is pretty dispotian in a childish kind of way. The world would suck to live in but the movie itself is funny and lighthearted. Hell, even the later Harry Potter films are pretty dystopian.

I love both the original Fallouts. I haven't read many post apocalyptic books but Cat's Cradle is a really good pre-apocalyse book.

For films the Mad Max series is good as is The Road and Delicatessen. However the best film like this I've seen has to be Children of Men, I literally just finished watching it a few minutes ago and it's fantastic.

Surely mean Fallout has a certain Mad Max-ish feel to it. I mean the films pretty much wrote the damn rule book on the post apocalyptic design-aesthetic.

Ergo Proxy also fits the bill as well as Ghost in the Shell and Jin Roh, though the latter two are more dystopia and less post apoc. As for games, I have high expectations for Rage. And finally, last but most definetly not least, Blade Runner, no movie thread is complete without it.

I can agree with many of the other posters; Mad Max, Bladerunner, The Postman, The City of Lost Children, and Children of Men.

In regards to adding anything to the list, i would recommend:
Six-String Samurai from 1998 (it's wierd, rather than a 'proper' post-apocalyptic movie, but... interesting)
Blindness from 2008. The pandemic-apocalyptic/-post-apocalyptic type of film.
Pandorum from 2009, though it could also be percieved as a horror-film. Hm... maybe it's more of a sci-fi when I think of it.
