Dave Grohl! The man is invincible! Well probably not but he seems to pop up everywhere i look.
And my other mention goes to Chad Smith for no particular reason other than being awesome.

The guy from Dream Theater is quite exquisite.

Although my favorite is the drummer from As I Lay Dying, fastest double bass I've heard (that's not triggered or messed with).

I'm gonna say Alex Van Halen.

...now just stick with me here. I'm sure there are awesomer drummers out there but Alex was the first drummer I can remember seeing with a double-bass setup. Plus he had the hugest, wildest drumkit I'd ever seen, more massive than I could imagine (and certainly more massive than I could imagine actually playing.)

Gene Hoglan. That guy is a fucking machine. There's no way any human could nail the double kicks that fast.
Yeah, his live run with Dethklok is pretty fuckin' brutal. Considering Brendon does all the music on the TV show himself but the drums (which he does electronically) it's amazing to hear/see a human match (or even surpass!) the speed and power Brendon's drum machine spits out.

Travis Smith from Trivium, the Rev from Avenged Sevenfold, or Matt Nicholls from Bring Me The Horizon
Sorry for the double post (and you probably know this) but did you hear that the Rev died just recently? I was shocked when I heard it, he was way too young to leave this world. He was a damn good drummer too.
It was drugs, I think. So it was his own fault, in my opinion.
I kinda figured as much, still it's sad when a drummer of his talent dies at such a young age. But yeah I just wish sometimes a rocker will know their limits when it comes to that crap.

i dont know the name of the drummer but this guy goes 10 mins playing super fast, even with 2 peddles a normal person would get tired

i know it takes a little to get to the fast part, patience is a virtue

I think drummers are one of the most underrated musicians in any band (speaking as one), especially because they're the butt of endless jokes and very few people appreciate the work they do-it's the most exhausting instrument in the usual band line-up. But, anyway. Who's your favourite drummer? Mine would have to be Dave Lombardo (Slayer/Fantomas) or Brann Dailor (Mastodon), Dave because he was so extreme at the time when Slayer came out and because of his sheer power and speed, even though he's in the tail-end of his 40's now he's still playing his ass off. And as for Brann? Just listen to Mastodon will you? His fills and rolls are absolutely mind-melting, and most of his rhythms are as complicated as most drummer's fills.
Hey a drummer who likes metal and Dave Lombardo! Thought I was the only one around >.>. Aside from Lombardo I'm also a fan of Nick McBrain(Iron Maiden) and Mike Portnoy(Dream Theatre)
Don't worry about it I haven't gotten around to getting double bass yet either....I'll do it....eventually.
