Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Funny movies.
Oh yeah, Doctor Who.
No, I've never been to England. I plan to someday.
If England was like a Simon Pegg film, I'd like it a whole lot more.

pussied out in the American Revolution,
Don't forget that the 'American' revolution was English people fighting other English people, they didn't get to call themselves Americans untl after the war had ended, so technically we won...

Considering the asshats you have been around the whole Icesave dispute (Yes, i am Icelandic) i have very little good to say about England right now.

Well besides Little Britain, i love that show!
This is Iceland's fault for offering such tempting investment options for county councils. And for running a chain of frozen food shops.

On topic:

Our fine democratic traditions - we'd never allow an unelected head-of-state... oh wait...

How about our trustworthy and incorruptible politicians?

Or our welcoming of foreigners to our shores?

Our stable and conservative financial sector?

Our great sporting success, especially in sports we (claim to have) invented?

Our balanced and informative media?

Our ability to manipulate US foreign policy to our own ends?

Our respect for other cultures?

Our well-behaved and friendly football fans?

Really on topic

Tea. And the ability to sit and drink it while it drizzles a bit outside whilst smiling about free healthcare, decent education and the many things we do amazingly well given that as a nation we are small and without major natural resources.

We're a tiny speck of green which sits on the G8, in the UN Security Council and NATO - and our armed forces, poorly equipped as they are, are still regarded as some of the most competent in the world.

We boast arguably the top football league on the planet, out-perform most of the world at the Olympics and have a long track record near the top of cricket, rugby and boxing to name just three more sports.

Besides practically inventing the modern world?

Other than that, the wonderful scenery is a bonus and there are plenty of hills/mountains to climb! :) Also, I think somebody mentioned fish and chips - anything can be improved with the addition of chips: steak pie and chips, hamburger and chips, you name it.

I hear a lot of people also like our accents, which is nice...:)

i must say i am appalled and disgusted, it's 'they're crap' not 'there crap'. honestly, it's terrible!
I see no mistake >.>
i've highlighted it, you did there as in 'over there' but it should have been they're, as in 'they are'

Ingenuity.

We have quite a few inventions to our name for such a small nation. We've got claims to the first computer amongst other things: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_inventions

We started the industrial revolution - that's got to count for something!
This, plus the fact that throughout history England has been an extremely popular place to invade. That makes for interesting history lessons.
...and as an island nation, their half-arsed attempts (with the exception of the Spanish Armada) after 1066 have failed pretty epically. If you compare it to a country on the continent bordering several other countries like for instance Poland, the number of attempted invasions of England pales in comparison though.

Hmm, i'll have to read up on the history of Poland, sounds like it might be interesting. Bloody school curriculum only teaches English history, unless you count world wars 1 and 2.

It's really hard going because the shape and size of Poland is constantly changing (sometimes disappearing altogether) so it's a very messy affair even working out what you call Poland and what you can't!

A challenge! I like the sound of that. I'll have a go at starting tomorrow, or later this morning, since it's past midnight.

Well, at least our asshatery over the Icesave thing is less than our asshatery over the Cod Wars. So we're getting better.

As for me, I'd have to say the British sense of humour. We've produced some truly great comedies (Monty Python, Spaced, Black Books, Brass Eye for a few examples). We've also given the world some pretty great music.
