He does when people are being idiotic or making completely baseless claims. Otherwise, he's normally contrary just to be contrary.

Detritus was particularly good when it came to asking questions. He had thee basic ones. They were the direct ("Did you do it?"), the persistent ("Are you sure it wasn't you that done it?") and the subtle ("It was you what done it, wasn't it?"). Although they were not the most cunning questions ever devised, Detritus's talent was to go on patiently asking them for hours on end, until he got the right answer, which was generally something like: "Yes! Nah, but Finntroll are amazing - and not just a gimmick band! They have a great range of styles, although all are of course rooted in folk music with a hint of darkness.

I remember a time when trolls were fun and interesting fantasy creatures instead of the trolls of the internet variety that we see today.

They could be scary, funny or vicious, but they were always more fun then a barrel of monkeys. And since Halloween is around the corner, I thought it'd be nice to make a thread celebrating some of our favourite "actual" trolls.
