Well, I don't have a favourite, but a huge X-men fan went and assigned my mates and I some characters who matched our personalities. I was given "Chamber", a cockney, womanising douche whose chest occasionally explodes.

He's in the show x-men. That counts right? If not it's a tied first between Gambit, Beast and Night crawler.
Well from the way I understand it OP is asking for your favorite X-man which implies they had to be part of the team. Although he never specified which medium so Pyro counts since he was part of the X-men in the movies.

Pyro. He's so underrated.
He isn't part of the X-men is he?
Yes, he was for a time before defecting to the Brotherhood, before sacrificing himself to save senator Robert Kelly.

Who hasn't at this point?[/quote]
Cable (probably due to him KILLING APOCALYPSE [sub][sub][sub]in his time line[/sub][/sub][/sub][/color]), and I don't thing Gambit was...

It's Cable for crying out loud. He has telekinesis, a shiny eye, an alien arm, huge quantity of guns, a teleportation system, and his own floating island.

Man, pretty much everyone seems to like Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Gambit. I think I know what the next two Origins movies should be.
First Class and Magneto
Sorry, movie knowledge...
At least that was their plan

Magneto. He has to be the coolest ever.
Magneto is not an X-Man. I'd say my favorite are: Wolverine, Deadpool, Nightcrawler, X-23, Emma Frost, and Rogue.

I've always been fond of Bishop, until he went insane and betrayed Xavier's crew. I also liked the Juggernaut during his periods of redemption, since the concept of a villain trying to reform whose powers are linked to his destructiveness was very interesting. My favorite now is probably Multiple Man though, especially after the whole storyline with his visit to a future.

Funnily enough I just finished reading a Deadpool graphic novel where he spends the whole thing trying to join them. He kind-of joins for about about half a dozen pages, then gets booted off the team for...... well, for being Deadpool mainly.
I'm...going to count that anyway. ^_^

Deadpool gets my vote!
Also joined in the Cable and Deadpool series, before betraying the X-Men to warn Cable (who promptly broke the Silver Surfers "unbreakable" board, promptly before getting his arm shot off by Silver Surfer.)
Deadpool is still iffy, but when his brain commits to being an x-man (until his cellular flux causes the crazy to spike again (as Deadpool put it, causes him to go Robin Williams on crack)
and he changes his mind and leaves) he is technically an x-man.
Deadpool does dawn Marvel Girl's costume for a bit when he joins the x-men in Cable and Deadpool (do NOT LOOK UP it is scaring (remember, Marvel Girl's costume has a thong....yeah...))
Sorry, geeked out
Oh, but honestly- X-Man is the ultimate X-man. Look at the name, and yes, he is a real character.

He was in the comic tho, I thought that is what the thread was.

Cyclops.
Because lasers have been scientifically proven to be awesome and will be forever.
Forever.

Beast deserves a mention too, the big intelligent fuzzball of cool that he is.

EDIT:
I also feel the need to point out that never have I seen the word "badass" used as an adjective so much in a single thread.

Telepathy AND telekenesis, all wrapped up in a hot red head. How can you possibly go wrong?

Always liked Northstar, too, but that's just because he was the first super hero to come out of the closet.

This is a tough one... So many freakin' X-Men... honestly, I dare someone to look up how many X-Men there ever were, including other teams.

OT:
Still a tough one, but I'd have to say, for the moment at least, Magneto. He managed to do a load of genuinly evil things, and yet you still managed to respect his plight, or even like him. That takes a good character.
By means of powers, I'm going to hop on the bandwagon and say Gambit. Kinetic energy transfered into playing cards? It takes something weird to come up with an idea like that, but it still kicks ass.

Gambit was always my favorite when I was a kid. My favorite villain was Stryfe.

Storm, without a doubt, Storm!

I love Gambit, Professor X and Jubilee too, but Storm is my favourite.

To that logic, Spider-Man and The Fantastic Four have also been in X-Men comics, so they'd be free for you to pick as well.

Its all good, I mostly made this thread so I could get all nostalgic about some of the old-school names that would pop up and Magneto certainly fits in there.

Besides he was part of the incarnation of the eXcalibur team on Genosha, which is kind of a subsidary of the X men, so it still counts in my book :)
