If you had to replace all the people in your life with fictional characters, who would they be? For example, who would be your best friend? Your significant other or your crazy ex? Your sworn enemy? A teacher or mentor? Your parents? Your drunk uncle from your family reunions?

You can choose the character for any reason you want, whether it be because they are ideal for the position, or because they remind you of whoever their replacing. Say why you chose them.

Haha now this is the kind of post I was hoping for! Deadpool would make an excellent father. And having Cthulu as a friend would certainly make for an interesting life.

Rival: Jecht (FFX - and yes the same Jecht that is my father, not a separate one for the position of Rival)

If we imagine that (and this isn't hard given the prevalence of FF characters in my family, I've been playing a lot of FF again recently, sue me ) I'd have a Final Fantasy-esque party to go on world-saving adventures, I would be the hero and I'd have a sword like Tidus' (make that two, I'll dual-wield), except I'd be badass and not a whining *****, I'd adventure with Zell, my mother (the fact my mother is with me doesn't diminish my badassery by the fact that she's my mother, though it MAY diminish my badassery because she's Sarah fucking Connor), and:

The Doctor, with the TARDIS' time travel functions disabled, so it can only move in space - this would be our airship and give reason to why he's locked here. Tbh he'd be a pretty good Father too.
Freya (FFIX)
Yahtzee (I don't care that he's not fictional. He can throw his hat, Oddjob style)
Paul Phoenix (Tekken series - he can actually be Zell's dad too, it'd make remarkable sense, think about it)
Deadpool (Marvel Comics)
Terra (FFVI, also my love interest ;])

We'd also be able to cast "Optimus Prime" as a summon magic.


Yeah, I picked up your idea and I totally ran with it. It'd be awesome though - the kind of universe that sees all these characters together just requires condensed awesome. We've got magic, big swords, superpowers, giant mecha, death robots from the future, a flying police box that's bigger on the inside, rat people from a country where it's constantly raining, and all manner of other cool shit.

Am I feeling lame enough to fanfic this? No. But if you asked me that question eight years ago, when I was twelve, the answer would have been "HELL YES."

Edit: I knew I was taking too long to type this and someone else would put Deadpool in, but hey I envision him more as an ally to my sensibilities than a father

Glad to see the imagination juices running strong! There's no shame in some 12-year-old nostalgia. That set of characters would make an intense life, living with them whilst battling Carnage and with Tidus's crazy father as your rival.

Can I come over to your place? You seem to have a pretty chilled-out but stern dad, that's cool, and your mum (hey, I'm British ) is less of a badass psycho than mine. Sometimes I just wanna be normal! *breaks down and cries*

Despite having said that huge list of characters in my "party," assuming a Final Fantasy IX party size of four characters it'd have to be me, Zell, Sarah Connor and Freya (I have a thing for Dragoons). Does that mean the other characters are wasted? NO! At some point earlier in the story we'd have been split up and I'd have got to adventure with Yahtzee and the Doctor! Now that'd be awesome =D

Fuck it, I'm fanficcing this. I don't care about Mary Sue-ing. I just need a few more villains... Cthulu as the Eldritch Abomination behind the Man/Symbiote would be a good'un. So THAT'S why Carnage is so fucking insane.

That would be awful..? Sure she gives you nice shoes and heals your pokemon. But she doesn't work for a living. In fact I doubt she leaves the chair for anything. If you were dying of a stroke 10 feet away she would do nothing because you didn't press A.

For some unknown reason I think I would want my dog to be the dog from Secret of Evermore (anyone else remember that old SNES RPG? It was pretty good) as he transformed into different dogs depending on what timeframe you were in, from poodle to greyhound to even robot dog. I think I'd want that personally, it'd make for an impressive party trick anyway!
