Back when I was MUCH younger, I played all those "kiddy" games, and I thought that killing zombies would be fun, and that was my first 18+.
What was? You didn't actually name the game, just said that it involved killing zombies.
I thought resident evil was pretty much implied through the text?
Resident Evil was 15+.

Honestly, I've been playing ultra violence games for a while. First one could be attributed to Goldeneye, if it counts. I don't pay attention to the ESRB ratings to be honest, since I shop for myself or fellow lovers of ultraviolence.

Not according to Wikipedia... [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil_2]
Although apparently the 'Uncut' Resident Evil [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil_(video_game)] was an 18...

Smash TV (it should have been rated M anyway, but ratings at the time...)

P.S. I want a remake =D
That new geometry wars came close the the gameplay of Smash TV, unfortunatly it lacks the insane amount of death and destruction. An updated version would be awesome though.

I didn't actually buy any 18 titles till I was 18, since I was mostly a handheld gamer, but I remember playing GTA round my friends house once.

I don't know, because I've been playing games for longer than the ratings have been around. Almost all the games I *own* are "Rated M for Mature"--I have two T-rated games in my current stack. That's it.

I think for America, 18+ means AO.

Uh. GTA London standalone when I was about 12. :D BBFC rating meant absolutely sod all back then. Still almost the same today but they're asking people for ID a bit more nowadays.
