Dragonball Z. It was the summer of '99 and once the cable got hooked up in me and my brother's room, my brother was testing the channels and we saw Goku and Piccolo getting pwnd by Raditz. We continued watching the series to understand the part of the saga and got hooked.

DBZ. For years I would watch Goku arrive on Namek and get ready to fight Jayce, and Burter. The announcer would say can Goku defeat the two members of the Ginyu Force?? Then the next episode would be Raditz arriving on Earth because there were no more translated episodes.

Inuyasha, I guess, if we're not including Pokemon and DBZ. It was my favorite anime in the 5th and 6th grade. There was Full Metal Alchemist, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and FLCL, too, but I never understood them very well since I was only 10 years old, yet I watched them anyways.

Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and Dragon Ball Z.

DBZ was first, and it helped branch my interests in anime.

I fecking hate most anime now, though. So much of it is the same, brooding/kawai, tired shit.

Pokemon was like my all time favourite thing when I was a kid I would literally run home from school just to watch it but it kinda started going downhill so I moved onto Digimon and then to Yu-Gi-Oh! until about two years ago when I got introduced to Naruto and Bleach. I have also watched Elfen Lied and Kenichi Histories Mightiest Disciple which is actually awesome but not well known.

Well I watched a lot of stuff before knowing what anime actually is (like pokemon, kamikaze kaito jeanne, dragonballs and so on), so when I actually knew and choose to watch anime I went with a classic: Cowboy Bebop.
I am not sure if it was a good first choice as it is quite unusual, but heck. After that I watched Ghost in the Shell (movies and series), Elfen Lied and Neon Genesis Evangelion. So yeah, no wonder I watch comedy anime only since then XD

DBZ when I was in Primary School mate. Back when it was 'THE' cool thing of the time, and how many friends you had depended on how much you knew about DBZ...needless to say, I was the most popular kid in ze world....if only for the length of the fad.
It was a fad? Dammit...

Robotech was my first anime. Once it and DBZ came into my life I was not the same child.

I suppose technically it'd be either The Little Prince, Kimba the White Lion, or this other show about a kid and his big white dog; of course I was only about 6 or 7 at the time and didn't even know what anime was.

Yeah Cowboy Bebop was the first anime I took 'seriously'
as in not Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, oh lol look that's pretty cool but still really corny-esque. Anime.

Full Metal Alchemist Rekindled that feeling of taking a story seriously also.
I didn't know what to expect of it but I wasn't disappointed.

Hard.Fucking.Core.
I didn't even hear about Urotsukidoji until I was into my 20s, and I'd sooner watch 2 girls 1 cup again than try to finish it.

My first real anime was Hellsing, followed shortly by Excel saga.

Dragon Ball Z I suppose. Although the first one I actually enjoyed was Gundam Wing. My brother was into DBZ. But I'm more of a plot-focused person and the plot of DBZ (what little there was) moved at far too glacial a pace to keep my interest.

Gundam wing on toonami a long while back. Then I didn't watch any for a few years then I found some streaming sites and watched Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam Seed, and a few obscure anime shows (mostly revolving around Mecha).
