So I've had my license for a while, but really no car to drive with. However, as of late, I may finally be able to get my first car. Not a lease, not my dads Lexus, but MY CAR. Dear lord I have waited for this day forever...

I am eyeing a used 2010 Chevy Camaro. Been saving up forever, haven't even upgraded the old gaming PC in years now, but finally all that working during school will pay off...

So I was curious, what was your first car? Did you get to choose it, or did your dad decide that the used 1991 Yugo was the way to go?

I bought my first car--a Jeep--with my money and my mother's help. During my parents divorce, though, I came home one day to find that my father had taken it and sold it. This was before I officially had my license, so I'd only driven the thing for a few weeks. We eventually got him to replace the car, but not with another Jeep. Oh no. What he deemed to be a car of equal value was an ancient Ford the color of, I kid you not, diarrhea. It was nasty. It barely ran. Most upsetting, though, I took it as a symbol of my relationship with my father.

2010 Ford Focus SES coupe. It's no muscle car, but it's sharp looking and feature rich.

Hmm...
A 2002 Ford Focus. It was an awesome little car that handled like a go-kart. I don't drive it today, but I still remember it.

2003 Vauxhall Corsa. It's slow to get started, but it can reach the satisfying speeds once it's going.

1979 camaro, with a racing tranny, t-tops, and polytraction tires. Such a delicious gift for a sixteen year old girl.

Ford Escort. I likes, even if it cost me about £200 to get it to pass this year's MoT.

It was going to be my uncles Jenson Healy, with the Lotus 907 engine. I helped him restore it from a rusted shell.
But then I broke my leg, stopped my driving lessons, and my uncle sold it to someone else when he moved to holland.
If i hadn't broken my leg, i would have passed my test (i was almost ready to take it, but when i broke it i spent more money on games, a big tv and stuff and ran out of money) and i would have gotten the car.

1987 Nissan Maxima. The first and best car I had. It was a bit beaten up and the mileage was stuck at 173,537. Had it for 5 years before giving it to my sister.

I learned to ride first. My vehicles go in this order.

17 years old - Yamaha RD125LC, race tuned, 110mph, rebuild every 300 miles! Eventually sold it for £50 to some kid to make some room in the shed, he was pretty chuffed!

21 years old - Kawasaki GpZ500s. Commuted 300 miles a week in all weather. I owned two as my first was written off when a coach knocked me off and ran over my legs!

22 years old - Hurrah, my first car, given to me by my mum. A 1990 VW polo!

24 years old - Fiat Punto sporting, which I'm still driving at 31 years of age (mine's yellow!).

The reason I haven't bothered upgrading my car. No point, I'll never get anything as quick as this. 1991 GSX-R1100M, stage 3 K&Ns, Stage 3 dynojet kit (race tuning happening next weekend), full Yoshimura race exhaust. Next weekend I should have 150+bhp at the wheel (160ish at the crank)
