Your first concert.

So.. I just went to my first concert. A Jonathan Coulton concert, to be precise. It was utterly amazing. It was opened by a guy named "Mike Phirman" who's a comedian/songwriter, who made an excellent opening act.

Overall, the concert lasted about... 3 hours. It started at 8:00PM, and ended at about 11:00PM. My mind is blown at the sheer amazingness.

So, for discussion: Do you remember the first concert you went to? If so, who was it, and how good was it?

2008 I believe, April Wine. Last year I was able to see David Wilcox, if you can ever go see one of his preformances, I urge you to go. Unless you can't stand that type of rock.

I used to go to the symphony a lot as a kid, but I don't think that counts. I guess the first (and only) "real" concerts I've been to were the ones at PAX last summer.

I remember it. It was summer, and it was a protest concert with a lot of cool bands. It lasted around 6 hours.

If it doesn't count since it was more of a show than a concert, I shall add Deep Purple. It was November and they were performing outside. I got the worst cold of my life but it was pretty damn amazing.

Same here! I went to the Manchester show, in fact the hoodie I'm wearing right now is the same one I bought at the concert. Buckcherry was kind of a dissapointment but the rest of the night was awesome.

First concert for me was Hatesphere back in 2007. Was a great concert and a great first experience of seeing a band play live. The warm-up band was Stonegard, not really the same genre as Hatesphere and to be honest they played a bit too loud(even for a metal concert) for my liking. Luckily, as there is a break between warm-up and headliner, my ears had a little time to adjust themselves.

All in all, a great experience!
