My first experience of analogue controls (as we know them today at least) was probably Medievil on the PSX, class game that. I still play it off and on to this day lol

I remember struggling to use two analog sticks at the same time while playing Medal of Honor Rising Sun. It took me awile but I eventually got use to and became quite good at the game.

I certainly understand why non-gamers find modern contollers intimidating.

(As for a single analog stick that's too long ago for me to remember.)

Pokemon Arena for the Gamecube I'd say.
And then Mirror's Edge again... I didn't have consoles for a looong time, mainly due to parents reasons and me not having money for it myself.

I remember being handed a analogue controller whilst playing Tekken 2, used it for about 10 seconds, hated it and moved back.

Maybe Crash Bandicoot I actually used them for, but doubt it, it was likely an FPS or racing game that weaned me off directional buttons.

Ummmm.... I'm thinking Final Fantasy 7... maybe. I don't know. I believe the playstation was created when I was like 1 if wikipedia is to be trusted (the year 1994 it says). So analog sticks were already established for awhile before I started playing.

Ape Escape was my first game too!

I had that game for months not knowing how to play it, i didn't even know what the analogs were for other than a fun waggle. Then my friend told me i actually had to use the analogs to control stuff! :O

I actually remember quite well: Ape Escape. I recall how akward the analog sticks felt at the time. I thought I'd never get used to them... I beleive it was one of the Spyro games that actually made me start using the analoge stick naturally.
