Since Duck Hunt doesn't count: Mega Man 2. I remember I thought that in the stage selection screen I was choosing MY character: "Oh, sweet! I'll be Crash Man!"

MY dad brought home a computer with doom and the original prince of persia when i was like four, i'm not sure which i played first, but i've been hooked ever since

First game I ever played was Runescape, because my friends thought it was a good game. First game I beat was Morrowind.

However, both of these games are second-rate now. Runescape is completely owned by DDO: Unlimited, and Morrowind was surpassed by Oblivion.
