Okay fellow Escapists, fairly simple one.
What was your first game you played, and when did you?
Mine was, I'm proud to say, Pacman, on the original arcade machine. I was 6 at the time I believe.

It was either one of the Mario Party games at my cousin's house when I was quite young, or Tyrian at a friend's house when I was in grade 1.

I owned a sega mega drive and my first game was shining in the darkness at age 5. Wonderfull RPG, turn based but massive game play time and quite immersive. I was so annoyed when you (just incase you want to play this legendary title)
Kill your father, i think i cried

MegaMan X, Super Mario Bros., and TMNT: Tournament Fighters. Even as a child, about the age of 3, I was fueled with rage when these games beat on my soul. Ah, those were the days...............

Hmmm... I think it was watching a Junior High kid play Super Mario 64 when I was in daycare, and then getting to play it myself once.

Or was it one of the Star Wars games on the original Nintendo?

I can't remember! :O

EDIT: off topic, but how do you remove badges? I hate Multiplayer and I'll play any game I get my hands on; those results were wrong.

I think the first game I ever attempted to play was Wolfenstein 3D, but I wasn't very good at it and just wanted to watch my Dad play instead. I think I was about 7 or 8 at the time.

Or wait well, there was also the educational games like Math Munchers and Carmen Sandiego too, come to think of it.

Mine was Super Mario Land on the game boy pocket.
Still my favourite Mario game, Koopa shells should explode more often!

*Cough*

That would be either Zelda or Super Mario on the NES. The game I remember the most of my childhood is GTA 1 though. It was true awe driving a beaten Bug, cutting through alleyways from the four-angry-cop squad.

I played a awful PC game called 'The Manhole.' It is exactly what you might expect it to be.

In the same vein as Myst and Riven, but an exploration based game where you tool about in a sewer after descending through the titular "manhole." It shredded my innocent mind.

I can't remember the game or the console, but it was a vertical 2D shoot em up on something which was essentially a keyboard with a floppy drive.

I'd love to know what it was, I'll have to ask my dad.

The original "Apventure". A friend of the family was showing off their nifty new Apple ][ with it.
