Mine was Public Enemy, just last September. It was amazing. Never had any interest in seeing live bands but i made an exception for them, i'm glad i did.

The first one I went to out of free will (earlier ones were through school, we actually saw one pretty famous through school once): Bronx and Rise Against at a festival.
Bronx was OK, but nothing special. Rise Against was the reason I went to the festival. Awesome from beginning to end. I was loving every second of the concert. They played great and they were fun and they really seemed to enjoy playing. I still get a rush of energy reliving the music and the mood of the show. Best thing is that I even talked to Tim Mcllrath after the show and he talked back (nothing more than you rock and a returned thanks, but STILL!) and I got a high five. I'm going to see them live again next month and I can't wait.

Mine was The Proclaimers and The B-52's, and it was amazing, with the lights, the acoustics, and everything else.
We had the proclaimers do a local festival gig. They didn't give a fuck, and apparently it was very disappointing. Shame...

OT: My first was in Manchester's MEN arena. Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was fucking amazing!

And they were opened for by this band, Fool's Gold who were incredible and very unique.

First band I saw was Turisas with Dragonforce, Dragonforce were not that great but Turisas were really good, I felt sick halfway through the gig though as it was so crowded and I was short so I was getting crushed. Best band I have seen is Devin Townsend and Dave McPherson doing an acoustic gig, I was right at the front and it was a really intimate gig, I was able to chat to both of them for quite a bit after, T'was awesome!

First proper concert i went to out of my own effort and interest was in fact last weekend, when i went to see seether in melbourne.
ended up right up against the rails, and later went around the back of the venue and got my copy of disclaimer II signed by the band, which was awesome.

how did i feel? awesome. i was also too exhausted to sleep somehow, and my throat felt as if it had been defiled by all manner of hellspawn, but i felt awesome.

also, broken was just amazing when you were right there as a part of it.

I saw Kiss with my dad and a couple of his cop friends a few years ago. It was a pretty damn good show, Kiss isn't the best of musicians, but damn they are some of the best performers ever. It was an opportunity to see a different side of my dad and what I realized just now as I'm typing is that we are insanely similar, especially in how we act with friends.

My first live show was one by Pieter Wilkens. Very famous in The Netherlands and completely unknown everywhere else. I was at an age where I had very little taste in music, and drunk people scared me. Granted, they kind of still do but whatever. I felt bored and scared at the same time. The next one, and more notable one was Iron Maiden here in Jakarta last year. That was all kinds of win. The songs were epic, the crowd was awesome, and I really gained not only an added appreciation to live music, but also to Iron Maiden themselves. The latest show I went to was to the last day of Rock Werchter. I saw (in order) All Time Low, Social Distortion, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs, Grinderman and Iron Maiden. I also caught a little bit of the Two Door Cinema Club. It was fucking amazing to be there with my brother and dad all day.

My first concert ever was Weird Al back in the early 90's. What can I say, I love the man! :D

As for the best concert I've ever been to...I'd have to say it was Motorhead, Dio and Iron Maiden. That show was fucking EPIC

The first band I saw live was the Dave Matthews Band with my father (...what? They're a good band...). It was fun, we had great father-daughter bonding time.

Seeing Muse at the SECC in Glasgow when they were touring for the release of Uprising. It was absolutely brilliant. They put on one hell of a show.

mine was Rush, touring Snakes and Arrows.
It was truly an epic way to begin going to concerts.
Unless you count ACL fest, which I don't, as that's a music festival more than a straight concert.

The Black Crusade at Manchester MEN Arena. The bands were Shadows Fall, Arch Enemy, Dragonforce, Trivium and Machine Head. I went with my best friend, and it still rates among one of the best experiences of my life. Although I was depressed to realize that Dragonforce are absolute bollocks live. Also, the singer from Shadows Fall has dreadlocks practically the length of his entire body, and seeing that stuff windmilling through the air was a sight as majestic as the rise and fall of an empire.

Funny thing was, this was the night before I had to do two huge tests for school, which I hadn't studied for, and despite not getting back from the show until about 1:30, and not getting to sleep for a few hours after that, I was the only guy who got 100% on both of them. I believe the collective response of my friends was a large "Fuck you."

My first concert was Avenged Sevenfold - who were my favourite band at the time -, which I took my girlfriend to see. It was a good show in my opinion, and had some of my favourite songs by them. It was on a big stage and was a pretty awesome experience.

However, I was at my second concert this time last week, seeing Alestorm, which was just immense. I really preferred the club atmosphere and the small stage, it was really awesome to be able to just stalk the band around and get them to sign stuff. I actually saw the singer about 2 hours before the show taking some equipment round the back (not a euphemism) and got his signature. I met everyone in the band either before or after the show, at one point the guitarist borrowed my pen to sign some breasts, and he game me his setlist in return :D. Just me and some friends at this one, as the Icelandic gf didn't enjoy their song about killing Vikings.

My first actual concert experience was going to the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany in 2006. I was 16 and spent three blissful days getting drunk and listening to Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Morbid Angel, Motörhead, some other bands and crazy Dutch people. It was pretty great.

Lots of local metal and punk bands in high school... first big one was Korn/Staind on the Family Values Tour in 1999. It was a pretty awesome show, introduced me to Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Animation Festival (shock humor impressed me when I was a teenager), but now... I'd rather see Kansas. So I'm jealous.
It really was a great show. Steve Walsh doesn't seem to have quite the voice he used to, but all of the instruments sounded awesome and I was completely blown away by David Ragsdale playing on violin. Only thing that kind of disappointed me was the lack of kids my age (17 for clarification), but that had nothing to do with the band really.

...Also, their guitarist wears an eyepatch. That's pretty much instant awesomeness to me.

Hate all you want, my first show was Fall Out Boy, and it was fucking grand. I am to this day, unabashedly, a complete Fall Out Boy lover.

Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction, and Street Sweeper... In Vegas! I was surrounded by hot chicks in tight black leather, a wide assortment of drugs, Freese's double bass had enough kick to blur my vision and I was close enough to scream, "YOU THE MAN FINCK!" and in return he threw me his pick. :)

Street Sweeper, Tom Morello and Boots Riley, opened with some groovy guitar work.

An awesome setlist, tons of Broken-Fragile era, with a sprinkle of everything else.

Jane's Addiction provoked the ladies into ripping their clothes off and throwing it on stage, and of course, the band had to try some of the bras on.
