Mine's gonna piss some people off, but it was Deadmau5; and it was the best god damn night of my life. There really is something about it being so loud that you feel every note of the bass.

The first (and sadly, only) live show I saw was Stone Temple Pilots. I was... neutral? Unenthusiastic? But grateful because I didn't have to pay for the ticket.

I liked the band and the concert, but I had no idea who they were before my friend told me we were going to a concert. They were very good in concert, and I think that was the reason why I wouldn't say I was bored there. It's not exactly my cup of tea, but I appreciated the experience.

Well, my FIRST gig I went to was Dragonforce, and they were pretty good, but certainly not "one of the best experiences of my life", not even close.

Then at the second gig I ever went to, I saw Deep Purple, who were much, much better. I knew almost every song they played and had a really great time.

It probably holds a place in the top 10 best experiences of my life, but I don't really like the massively loud noises and everybody pressing me against the railing at the front, so for those reasons, it wasn't a truly amazing experience.

Amongst lots of other bands, I've also seen Rush, who were my second favourite gig, and most recently I saw Steel Panther, Motley Crue and Def Leppard all together in December, and that takes the third place.

Hey now, I saw them when they were actually good. Now I believe they suck. :/
Good point. And you were 11, still the process of developing musical taste. Breaking Benjamin at 11 must have been incredible.

The first one I went to out of free will (earlier ones were through school, we actually saw one pretty famous through school once): Bronx and Rise Against at a festival.
Bronx was OK, but nothing special. Rise Against was the reason I went to the festival. Awesome from beginning to end. I was loving every second of the concert. They played great and they were fun and they really seemed to enjoy playing. I still get a rush of energy reliving the music and the mood of the show. Best thing is that I even talked to Tim Mcllrath after the show and he talked back (nothing more than you rock and a returned thanks, but STILL!) and I got a high five. I'm going to see them live again next month and I can't wait.
Legendary. I saw Rise Against at a concert in Sydney. First Concert I'd been to, they played, supported by Sick of It All. It was awesome. Definitely worth the price of the tickets and the plane flight.

Which festival would that be? The Warped tour or similar?

That sounds awesome too, especially since Sydney is in itself an awesome looking city (I really want to go there sometime). It was just a small festival in Norway (Øya), but it would be awesome to go to Warped Tour.

It was my first ever concert too. I remember it. They went
On before Three Days Grace and Adam came out and sang a duet of Breath. It was amazing.

Mine was some evangelical christian band I was invited to by a friend.

We aren't friends anymore.

I kid, I kid. Well, we aren't friends but because the guy was a creeper. Anyways, the band was alright and they had a few good songs, but I'm not a fan of ultra-religious music. Just not my thing. *shrug*

My first was Blue, I was like 8 years old (and hated them even then) and in Legoland, I just wanted to go to the theme park, Blue were an inconvenience.

The first band I chose to go and see was the Fratellis, it was just after they had released their first album but before thy were really popular and so they were playing in the town hall with shitty equipment. XD

Could barely hear a word they sang, but there was lots of beer and being Margate, lots of fights as well, it was literally like being in a pub brawl with some good (if distorted) music in the background.

Enjoyed it though, although it couldn't hold a candle to my favourite gig (KISS in 2010)

My first actual concert was Mad Caddies back in high school. this was in the early 2000's and they weren't as big as they eventually got. At the time I was only really listening to metal and hard rock, but they put on such a fun show that it brought me around to the ska/punk scene a little.

It made me realize how important a good live show is, I have had bands that I lost interest in after seeing them live because they didn't put on a good show and other bands I still sort of pay attention to because they are good live.

Oh, boy, I am getting more and more jealous. Would have been cooler if it had been The Diary of Jane, but that's just my personal preference.

I'm impressed they did it, they've got rather different voices. I'm more of a Breaking Benjamin/Benjamin Burnley guy myself, but my best-friend just loves Three Days Grace. Adam Gontier's voice is great, especially for those slower, more relaxed songs.

Benjamin has the absolutely gorgeous voice which melds with the guitars perfectly.

I played guitar to 3000 people at the 1st concert I ever went to. It was a concert where all the schools in our state had to pick some students from their music classes to perform. We were lucky to be picked to play 2 songs at it.
The adrenalin wouldn't wear off - I was hypo all night. I got addicted to playing gigs that night.

1st concert I went to watch was AC/DC about 2 years later. Was amazing.

Best concert was ever was Tool - but that may have been chemically induced bliss.

Mine was a five band show at age fourteen, in the following order:

Becoming the Archetype (Who I knew of beforehand and really enjoyed)
August Burns Red (Who I had not heard of. They did alright)
Spoken (Kind of were the odd ones out, as they were the only band that was only singing/no growls. But they were good. A little generic, but that's not a bad thing)
Zao (Had heard of them, never listened to them. They were a mess onstage)
Demon Hunter (The main reason I went)

BtA blew me away, because the dude just screamed over the whole venue without a mic. They were probably second best, though since they were the first band, they had a short set.

August Burns Red was alright. Don't remember much of them, to be honest. Same goes for Spoken. The only thing about the Spoken set that stands out was the guy behind me singing along to every song. He seemed to really enjoy them.

Zao, as I already said, just couldn't come together. Their music is alright, but they were not in sync this time.

Demon Hunter killed it. They played all of my favorite songs of their's, and sounded great. Got to talk to the lead singer Ryan Clark afterwards. Really, really cool dude.

At the time, that was the highlight of my life. I love the thrill of live shows.

My first was a music festival called Harvest Festival with Portishead, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, TV On The Radio, The Walkmen, The National and most importantly, The Flaming Lips.

The band entered on-stage through a giant techni-colour vagina, followed by the lead singer crows-surfing in a giant plastic ball. The performance itself was accompanied by giant balloons, confetti cannons, even larger balloons filled with confetti, lasers, dancers dressed as characters from The Wizard of Oz and a disco ball (which lasers were pointed into). This isn't even describing the music either, which was amazing by itself.

As you can tell, it left an impression.

I believe the first and only concert I've ever been to was a Shania Twain concert when I was still in elementary school. I can't recall if I went to any other concerts, but I wasn't big on them anyways.

It was a pretty big deal to me because when I was little I LOVED Shania Twain and she was my favorite singer. Although I have to admit, my ears were sensitive and the music was LOUD as you might expect at a concert and I could barely stand it.

My mom took me to see squeeze as a baby. I don't remember that one.
I do remember her bringing me to see Frank Zappa at Joan's Beach when I was 4.
The first show I dragged her to was They might be Giants at the Village Gate.
...
Kansas is still alive? Do they still look like the cast of Wizard of Oz?
