I played Adventurequest untill I got my first computer, then I started playing Runescape with friends. Now I don't really play MMO's anymore.

Final Fantasy 11. Got into it... I wanna say like 6 months after it was released, so I was a bit behind my friends who had gotten it when it first came out. My computer could barely handle it at times, but I still loved playing it as a Black Mage.

Unfortunately I was kind of forced to quit when everyone stopped taking Black Mages into their parties around level 35, at the peak of the Red Mage hype, and I didn't feel like investing another 100 hours of my life just to level up another job out of necessity.

Huh. No One else here claiming Gemstones or Dragonrealms?

I thought they were more popular back in the day. Doesn't take pictures to be Massive Multiplyer Online, or a Role Playing game.

Ragnarok online. I learned how to be a really good Paladin and knew that system's ins and outs like no one else. Nowadays, I just got into DFO but Ragnarok still holds a place in my heart.

Ultima Online , still the best MMO when it comes to real roleplaying. Then there was Black Moon Chronicles (or was it dark moon?) i enjoyed that one pretty much, liked the comic style it had it suddenly dissappeared dunno what happened. I still got D&D Online , LotrO and WoW and play them sometimes a lil bit. D&D till i get frustrated by the limited exploration, LotrO to roleplay, and WoW to check out the Changes in Cataclysm. But i dont play them that much anymore. Perhaps twice a week.

I could say Runescape, but really Horizons Empire of Istaria is really close to my heart.
'course, it hasnt evolved so it's kinda shit and is now called Istaria chronicles of the gifted because appearantly changing the name was the most pressing change that the developers could think of.

it had a nice crafting system.
What?
I was a very boring kid.

Meridian 59... i am stilling looking into it every few months.

Awesome game... still has the best PvP mechanic and cool, varied magic. Too bad MMO-RPGS went mostly into the wrong direction the last 14 years,

And still it has cool graphics and sounds, too... Ah nostalgia.

First and only was Guild Wars. I did enjoy it, me and my mates started a guild and we were quite big for a time. But it all collapsed when we left school and now I barely have enough time for regular gaming, let alone an MMO.

Runescape for me. Really enjoyed it at the time, but stopped playing around level 60 because the only quests that remained for me required level 100. Which is a ridiculous 40 level grind that lay ahead of me. Good for it's time, bu there are definitely better things out there...

...such as WoW! Really enjoy it personally. Did leave for a bit during WotLK, due to elitist jerks demanding ridiculous numbers for the easiest raids, but there's nothing quite like it. I tried to get into D&DO, but it's just not the same. So now i'm back and enjoying the added challenge posed by cataclysm.

First was Runescape, and i got really into it, i must have wasted countless hours mining and smithing.

Later a friend got me hooked on WoW, i tried guild wars to cure the mmo itch but Guild Wars just wasn't good enough.

So i've been playing WoW for years now, its hard to quit. When you want a good fantasy mmo, it just fills that gap.

Dragons Fire / Harper's Tale / Virtua Pern MOO

If you're not listing MOO's/MUD's, then you've missed the great imaginarium that exists.

AO is still pretty good, and free, fyi.

World of Warcraft

Played for about two months then got bored of it. Recently started again but stopped after I separated my shoulder playing rugby and couldn't reach the keyboard with my arm in a sling.

My first MMO was actually runescape, and this is when I was in grade 7 so I was 13, 7 years ago. It was 2D back in those days and while primitive, it was fun to log on with a bunch of my classmates and run around questing (single player quests, that we just finish at the same time, lol), finding dungeons, and searching the wilderness for noobs. I have a nostalgia for that game, even though it is horrible by todays standards, I do feel it is a good introductory MMO, for kids just getting into MMO's.

My second MMO I shall mention because it was a bit different than most peoples 2nd MMO, it was Puzzle Pirates; a pirate game where every action you did was a puzzle, so it actually made you think, and what would normally be grinding (let's say, bilging or sailing) was actually a fun puzzle. There were trials and it was also pay to play, and my buddy paid for me and we actually had one of the strongest crews on our ocean (servers were called oceans). I was really good at sword fighting and he was really good at navigating so I think we just had a natural affinity to creating a strong crew. I have fond memories of that game as well, but at the same time, today the game feels like a complete mess to me with all the additions they made, but I'll always have my nostalgia.

Everquest 2, six years ago. I loved it so much - I played it for 3 years more or less - and met two great friends who I still talk to every day thanks to the wonders of the internet.

City of Heroes. I joined rather late though. A little while later Champions came out, and I played that for a while. Meh.
